Hada Labo Perfect UV Gel Review

June 26, 2015

Hello my readers! ^^ Today I will be reviewing Hada Labo's Perfect UV Gel with SPF50+ PA++++!

So I picked this baby up because I desperately needed a sunscreen. Living in a country with very humid weather, SUNSCREEN AND SUNBLOCK IS A MUST. The sun is evil and it will burn you down to an old wrinkly piece of meat!

I was actually looking at the Biore sunscreens when I noticed that Hada Labo also had their own sunscreen. I decided to buy the Hada Labo one just because I like their products. I shall buy a Biore one next time so I'll be able to do a comparison.

So, on with the review!
*disclaimer: This is my honest review of this product. I bought this with my own money and was not paid to make this post*

WHERE TO BUY

I bought this product in Watsons for about RM30~35 (can't remember exactly how much), which is around the same price range of the other Biore sunscreens of the same size.

PACKAGING

After a bit of online researching I found out that this product was originally released in a tub form, then repackaged into a tube like this, the repackaged again in 2013 to what it is today. The newly repackaged version is of course upgraded with more good stuff.

The original packaging

I really like this tube form because it makes estimating the amount I want to apply easier and it's hygienic as well.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

This product has SPF50+ and PA++++, which means that this sunscreen is has a very high level of protection against UVA rays.

This product also boasts to be a 5 in 1 product, consisting of a sunscreen, essence, emulsion, makeup base and face primer all in one.

Like other Hada Labo products, it is formulated with 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid to deeply hydrate the skin.

This sunscreen has many features such as:

1. Broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection
2. Ultra light formula that glides easily on skin
3. Helps prepare skin for easy makeup application
4. Helps makeup last longer
5. Free of fragrance, colorant and mineral oil

TEXTURE AND SCENT

This sunscreen has a very faint smell which I enjoy because I don't really like my face smelling of sunscreen. The texture is not really a gel but more of a light watery/creamy lotion. It's very light and absorbs very quickly into the skin. It's not sticky or anything and it doesn't leave a white cast as well.

INGREDIENTS

HOW TO USE

Apply desired amount onto the the back of your hand and dab onto face at the end of skincare routine in the morning.

MY REVIEW

I usually apply sunscreen last because it serves as a sealant to seal everything else that I've applied. Because of the light texture it's suitable for people with oily skin such as myself. Although it does leave the face a bit dewy and looking a bit oily, it's not sticky at all and it light enough to wear out in the hot sun. It absorbs fast so when I do sweat it doesn't come rolling down my face.

In terms of sun protection I can't really accurately tell you if it reflected any rays because how on Earth will I be able to prove that lol. It does a pretty decent job of protecting my skin against the sun, I suppose.

I don't wear makeup so I don't really know how it would feel, but judging from how light it is, it shouldn't be any problem. *not really sure*

MY VERDICT

I quite like this sunscreen. It's easy to apply, it's comfortable, it's cheap and it works.

WILL I REPURCHASE?

As I mentioned above, when I finish this tube I will probably buy another gel/light sunscreen, just so that I can try other brands and compare which is better. But overall I feel like I will repurchase this product because of the ease of application and how well it works with my skin.
