Lolavely Minty Chocolate Mask Review

May 2, 2017

Hi guys, today's post will be all about my review of Lolavely's Minty Chocolate Mask!

This mask is from a company called Lolavely Cosmetics, and they're a newly-launched gourmet-based beauty brand in Malaysia! I'm so glad that more and more local brands are popping up 😍 I've seen tons of new local indie makeup brands and I'm starting to see skincare brands coming up as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Malaysia beauty scene develops in the next few years!

Anyhoo, Lolavely sells beauty products made from delicious and natural raw materials which are suitable for all skin types. What's the best part? All their products are natural, vegan, organic, paraben-free and cruelty-free!

They don't have any products up on their site yet except for this Minty Chocolate Mask. It comes in a 50ml tub and retails for RM45, but they're currently having a promotion and you can get it now for only RM40.

This mask is a wash off mask that contains chocolate and peppermint oil extract. Not only is it supposed to smell delicious, it's also supposed to pamper your skin.

On their website, this mask claims to have lots of benefits like:

1. Treating minor acne problems and blemishes
2. Reducing fine wrinkles
3. Nourishing and moisturizing
4. Soothing and calming
5. Whitening

Upon opening the tub and removing the plastic hygiene cover, you can see that the product has a brown colour and kinda looks like chocolate milkshake:

When I tell you it smells like chocolate IT LITERALLY SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE! I was so tempted to taste it! The mint smell is discernable too, but the chocolate scent overpowers it and it just smells so yummy!

I thought it would be thicker but when I applied it on, it was actually quite thin, which I appreciated because that meant that I didn't have to use a lot of product. The product moved easily and spread easily too.

I did have to mix before applying the product though because it looked like the oil had come up and separated a bit. Once I mixed it in it was ready to go. Another thing I'd like to comment on is the lack of a spatula hor hygienic application. It would have been great if they had a spatula so I could mix the product and put in on easier!

After cleansing and toning, you're supposed to apply an appropriate amount of the Minty Chocolate Mask evenly on your face. Leave it dry for 30 minutes, followed by rinsing it lukewarm water. It's also recommended to use this 3 times a week.

Here's a full list of ingredients:

Water, Kaolin, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Propylene Glycol Betaine, Stearyl Alcohol, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Allantoin, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint Oil), Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylexylglycerin, and Colorant (CI 19140, CI 17200, CI 42090)

One you put it on, there's a slightly minty tingly feeling which is very refreshing, but more than that, the smell was really so nice. I think more than the skincare benefits, this mask also provides aromatherapy. I love food and the smell of food is very relaxing to me. The chocolate smell was not overbearing and really made me hungry to be honest haha.

Not to worry, once it has been washed off, the smell fades off. My skin did actually feel quite moisturized after using it. It was soothing like it said, and it didn't break me out at all which is a major plus for me. Sometime masks tend to be extreme and break me out, but this one left me feeling refreshed and delicious haha.

Defnitely! I can see the tub lasting me a few months cause I usually interchange different masks in my routine. I'd definitely recommend it because a.) you get better skin, b.) it smells friggin delicious, and c.) its affordable! I can't wait to see what future masks/products Lolavely comes up with! Hopefully they'll have fruity stuff too, like mangoes, strawberries ooh and even raspberry! ðŸ˜

And that's all for this short post! As always, thanks so much for reading and see y'all in the next post! ðŸ’•
