2F+ by Yellow House, Relau, Penang

February 14, 2016

Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode 7 of Cafe Hopping with Eros & Fufy! My oh my, its been a while since I posted for this series! With college work and budget issues getting in the way, Fufy and I haven't really had time to go to any new cafes (actually is more of me not having enough money but let's not talk about that).

My friends and I initially wanted to approach this cafe for our Consumer Behavior and Media Strategy projects, but we found another one instead. Fufy and I still decided to eat here though!

Address: 937, Mukim 13, Relau, Bayan Lepas, 11900 Penang, Malaysia
Opening Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 3pm - 10.30 pm
Friday: 12pm - 12am
Saturday: 10am - 12am
Sunday: 10am - 10.30pm

The interior of the cafe is quite nice. At first I thought it looked a little run down from the outside but once you enter you'll be surprised how cozy the whole cafe feels.

I actually visited this cafe twice. The first time was just when my friends and I surveyed the cafe. The place is quite vintage, instagrammable and very OOTD friendly (if that makes sense hahaha)

I came back with Fufy a week later our initial survey for a quick late lunch. The first time we went it was almost full, but during our second it was nice and quiet. Since the space is quite small I recommend coming at off peak hours.

After some online research, I found out that 2F+ is a cafe by Yellow House and they have been in Relau for about two years, although they recently moved to their current address (they were initially on the second floor of a building)

The menu consists of breakfast items like bagels and sandwiches. They also have finger food, waffles, coffee and other drinks. Cakes are available in the counter as well.

On with the food porn shots!

Fufy and I both had their bagels and as you can see, the presentation was quite good!

Bagel Love | RM15

I had this bagel and it was totally worth the RM15. I was really hungry when I came and it managed to fill me up. The bacon was really nice and crispy and it was the highlight of the whole bagel. The bagel itself was fresh and didn't seem like it was old bread (aka they either bake their bagels or have it delivered freshly)

I'll rate this a 3.9/5 (minus 0.1 because although the cherry tomatoes added aesthetic value I would have preferred if it was a whole salad)

Deep Sea Fish Fillet Cheese Bagel RM13

Contrary to my bagel and how this bagel looks like, according to Fufy she didn't enjoy this bagel. She said for what was there it wasn't worth her money and that the bagel was too hard (weird because mine was fine). She said she didn't find anything satisfactory with the bagel at all.

For drinks, we both ordered iced coffee.

Caramel Shakerato | RM9

This says caramel but omg it was hella bitter! I should have Googled what a shakerato was! This was just too bitter for me, too bitter to enjoy. Espresso lovers might like it but for me...nope.

My rating: 0/5!

Ice Hazelnut Latte | RM9.50

Fufy's drink was so much better! I kinda sipped here and there and I'd give it a rate of 3.5/5.

Banana Kick | RM10

Fufy and I shared a waffle as well and it was very enjoyable. I give it a 4/5!

They don't charge GST (or GST is already inside, I'm not sure) and the pricing of their stuff is quite reasonable. Added with the ambiance of the cafe, I would recommend this cafe to anyone who wants a place to chill and chat instead of a full meal.

To end this post, here's a few selfies of me and #TBC!

And that's the end of this short cafe post!
