2D Bubble Tea Sunway Geo Review

June 24, 2019

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing about the 2D Bubble Tea cafe in Sunway Geo!

From what I know, 2D cafes first started popping up in Korea. Don't quote me on that, but one of the first ever 2D cafes I saw was Cafe 연남동 239-20 on @taramilktea's Instagram:

As with all trends, it spread, and it eventually made its way here in Kuala Lumpur a few months ago!

Located in Sunway Geo, 2D Bubble Tea is founded by the same guys behind La Fleur. Since it's located inside a mall connected to the BRT, you can easily get there via public transport. The mall itself is not very big (and is quite remote lol), and you can easily find the cafe.

Address:
F-03-10, Sunway Geo Avenue, Jalan Lagoon Selatan, Subang Jaya

Operating Hours:
Opens daily: 10am – 10pm

Once you enter you'll be greeted by a "lobby" with paintings on the left:

And a library on the right (with a chair for you to sit on):

This area is connected to the main cafe via a corridor:

Tbh the corridor was one of the best places to take pics in haha. Bo and I visited this cafe around 8pm and it was almost empty, perfect for taking pics

Here's what the cafe's main dining area looks like. You can sit on any of the tables & chairs or opt for the Japanese style floor mats too.

You can place your orders through a window that connects to the kitchen:

Here's the menu:

We weren't really attracted by the food menu so we decided to just try out their milk tea. I'm telling you guys now, their milk tea sucks lol. If it wasn't for their instagrammable cafe, I would not recommend you guys to drop by this cafe at all.

I read online that the 2D team took 1.5 months to paint the entire cafe, and I think it was well spent! The cafe looks so surreal and cartoony:

Here's a snap in the main dining area:

Beside the dining area is a classroom which you can, of course, take pictures in:

Through a side corridor, you'll see some hand drawn vending machines:

And past that are more seats:

As well as a Japanese bathhouse!

This area is super quirky and definitely makes for some good shots.

For my outfit, I decided to go with black to match the place. Whaddya think?

And that's it for this post! If you're in KL, I definitely recommend dropping by to take some super Instagrammable pics. If you're a milk tea lover, however, I advise you not to look forward to their drinks lol.

See y'all in my next post!
