Belif Stress Shooter - Cica Bomb Cream Review

August 22, 2019

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing all about the Stress Shooter - Cica Bomb Cream from Belif!

Famous for their Bomb series, Belif, recently expanded their Bomb line with the brand new Stress Shooter - Cica Bomb Cream!

This latest extension to the line helps to keep breakouts and flare-ups in control, and it uses a unique combination of moisturizing and soothing ingredients!

Fresh from the shelves in Korea, the Stress Shooter - Cica Bomb Cream is now available here in Malaysia! They very kindly sent over one for me to try out and after a few weeks of giving it a go, I'm here to share my thoughts with you guys.

Just a disclaimer, although this product was sent to me, this review contains my 100% honest thoughts and opinions as always!

Without further ado, let's get on with the review!

WHAT IS IT?
Belif's Stress Shooter - Cica Bomb Cream is a stress relief solution cica cream. If you're not already familiar with cica, cica is actually short for Centella Asiatica, an ingredient really good for those with acne/sensitive skin. It's super popular in Korea and is a tried and tested fave of mine!

This cream, in particular, is formulated with a plump pudding texture that provides a burst of fresh hydration to the skin.

Containing my fave Centella Asiatica and Madecassoside, this cream helps to soothe and calm skin that has become sensitive from external stimuli and stress.

This cream claims to have both immediate and long term effects. Upon application, this cream is supposedly able to increase the skin's moisture by up to 139.8% and reduce the skin's temperature by 6.9°C.

After 2 weeks of usage, it is supposed to After testing the cream on 22 females between the age of 20-60, they also found that this cream could overall increase moisture by up to 29..65%, prevent water loss by up to 18.4% and improve skin redness by up to 10.4%!

WHERE TO BUY?
This product is now available offline and online on Zalora & THE FACE SHOP's E-store! It comes with 50ml and costs RM195!

Belif previously used to only be available in Belif's flagship stores in KLCC + Mid Valley, but you'll soon be able to see them more often! Belif will be coming to THE FACE SHOP stores nationwide, and you'll be able to shop all of their best sellers with ease.

PACKAGING
The product comes in one of Belif's iconic gray boxes:

On the box there are both Korean and English descriptions so you can easily read the information!

The product itself comes in a tube rather than a tub, and I quite like it. It's hygienic and you can easily dispense product.

The packaging is matte and sleek:

Here's the info at the back:

Another thing I'd like to highlight about this product's packaging is the nozzle! It comes with a sleek, slim plastic nozzle that allows you to not only dispense the product hygienically but also control the amount you dispense very easily.

INGREDIENTS
This product features a "10-additives-free formula" and does not contain any potentially irritating or harmful additives like mineral oil, animal-derived ingredients, synthetic fragrances, synthetic pigments, parabens, phenoxyethanol, benzophenone-3, benzyl alcohol, triethanolamine and propylene glycol!

After analyzing the ingredients, I found that most of them have an EWG green level rating (save for 2 yellow). This means that the ingredients in this product are very unlikely to cause any irritation!

This product contains lots of ingredients that promote wound healing (like Panthenol, Madecassoside, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate and Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid) and contains ingredients that help with anti-ageing as well (Tocopherol).

Thoughtfully formulated to be safe for even the most delicate skin types, this product actually contains 3 different types of hyaluronic acid to deliver a complete veil of moisture from the inside out! Some of the ingredients included that are very beneficial for those with dry skin are Panthenol, Beta Glucan, Butylene GlycolSodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin and Tocopherol.

It also contains Calendula Officinalis Extract which is great for those with oily skin (like me) because it acts like an antiseptic and has anti-inflammatory properties!

Aside from Centella Asiatica and Madecassoside, this product also contains Napiers Original Formula (which is Belif's signature blend of active ingredients) and Napiers Aqua Formula (a special blend supplied to Belief by Napiers that delivers lightweight yet intensive moisture to improve skin elasticity)!

FRAGRANCE AND TEXTURE
This product has a very unique and lightweight pudding-like texture. I would compare it to the Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask but lighter and thinner. It is white in colour and smells fresh (slightly citrusy). A little goes a long way with this one, and the tiniest pea is enough to cover a big area.

HOW TO USE
On the packaging it says to gently massage the product into the skin, concentrating on irritation-prone areas. You can use this product as a moisturizer but I use this product more like a treatment, only applying it to areas that have broken our/are irritated.

MY REVIEW AND VERDICT
First of all, I'd like to say that the cooling effect is real! Upon application, you can really feel the coldness, and once it's absorbed you can feel that the skin has been cooled down too. This was really surprising even though I kept this product in room temperature.

This product is quite good at soothing my pimples, especially inflamed ones. It managed to get rid of small breakouts in around 2 days, not leaving any scars and cooling it down. There was a day when I used an extractor for my whiteheads/pimples and was left with pretty red skin. I applied this overnight and to my delight, my skin was back to normal the next day.

As I mentioned above, I don't really use this on my entire face, just on my irritated areas. You can use it on your whole face, but I find that I don't feel like areas that aren't irritated don't really need it. Its great for spot treatment as well because the small tip helps control the amount you dispense.

If you're looking for something for the sole purpose of moisturizing, I think you can find a better alternative. This product doesn't have the most grams and you can definitely get bigger sized products for cheaper. It does moisturize the skin, but I feel like it's better suited for calming the skin.

WILL I REPURCHASE?
I only use this product for spot treatment, and at the rate that I'm using it, I'm using it quite sparingly. I think the 50ml will last me quite a while and I would not mind repurchasing it once I finish. If you have very sensitive skin and are looking for a product that can be used on your entire face on a daily basis, I think you can explore other options.

And that's it for this review! Hope you guys found it informative and helpful.
