Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about the reopening of Lai Po Heen, Mandarin Oriental!

It was recently my friend Syahira's birthday, and I decided to bring her out for lunch. Since Lai Po Heen recently reopened, it was the perfect opportunity to rediscover them and try out their latest creations.

I've actually reviewed Lai Po Heen before, so if you'd like to read about it, click here.

Lai Po Heen is now open daily, and you can view their menu here.

Since we're still living with Covid, I got the three of us a private room:

We dropped in around 1pm, but I recommend dropping by earlier if you want to stay longer. This is because they close around 2.30, and their last call is around 2pm.

Mango Prawns
A fusion of flavours, this was a unique starter. I liked how it was a crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside, and the combination of flavours really woke my tongue up haha.

The dipping went along perfectly, and I highly recommend trying this out.

Mushroom Buns with assorted mushroom
I think these were okay, but I wouldn't 100% recommend them. They didn't really stand out to me, and I think they're not a must-have.

Hong Kong Style Turnip Cake, wok fried
I had to order this since I'm a huge fan of turnip cake, and I think it was a success. I loved how nice the turnip cakes were, and they weren't too oily/greasy as well.

Steamed Caviar with Shripms & Chicken Siew Mai
Super juicy and perfect for dimsum lovers, I actually think this contains abalone as well. They were humongous and quite filling.

Wok-Fried Cubed Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper
The beef was super soft and almost melted in my mouth! This is definitely a must-try, and I think this new item is definitely a must-try. It's perfect for sharing, and you don't really need to have rice to enjoy it. It was nice enough on its own and didn't feel too heavy.

Lai Po Heen Signature “Musang King” Durian Pancakes
Wrapped in thin crepes with fresh whipped cream, this dessert was super rich and creamy.

I'm still having dreams of this! It was nice and flavourful, and this would actually be an interesting mid-day treat as well.

If you still don't feel like going out but you want to enjoy their dishes, you can also order daily from 10am to 7pm on kualalumpur.mandarinorientalshop.com

And that's it for this post! I hope you guys found it helpful and informative.

See y'all in my next post!
