Huxley Secret of Sahara Conditioning Essence ; Reframe & Conditioning Mask ; One Moment Review

October 10, 2021

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing all about Huxley's new launches: the Secret of Sahara Conditioning Essence ; Reframe & the Secret of Sahara Conditioning Mask ; One Moment

Huxley recently expanded their selection of masks and essence, and I was super excited to try them out. Huxley has always been a brand near and dear to me because of their branding, plus, their ingredients are always top notch.

Now available here in Malaysia through their official Huxley Shopee shop, the two new drops are the Secret of Sahara Conditioning Essence ; Reframe & the Conditioning Mask ; One Moment.

WHAT IS IT
The Secret of Sahara Conditioning Essence ; Reframe is a conditioning essence that quickly helps dehydrated skin. I think by conditioning, it means it means to help the overall condition of the skin, aka hydration, texture, etc.

With a unique Cactus Ferment Filtrate, this essence aims to hydrating and nourishing unbalanced skin. Boosting the absorption of the next product that you layer on top of it, it also helps to strengthen our moisturizing barrier with the help of Moroccan cactus-derived ceramide.

A mild essence with pH level of 5, this essence is gentle enough even for those with sensitive skin. Suitable for all skin types, dehydrated skin or oily dehydrated skin!

The Conditioning Mask ; One Moment on the other hand is formulated with a Cactus-derived ceramics complex that moisturizes and nourishes dry, rough skin, effectively improving skin conditions.

With a non-greasy, non-sticky, refreshing finish texture, this mask features an eco-friendly sheet made of 100% rayon derived from cellulose. This makes the mask not only comfy, but helps it hold more essence as well (effectively delivering active ingredients to the skin).

Suitable for all skin types, this one-stop mask helps to condition the skin instantly, making it perfect for those who don't have much time to do their skicare.

WHERE TO BUY
The 60ml essence currently retails on their Shopee for RM170.

The mask on the other hand comes with 5 pieces (each with 25ml of essence) and retails on Shopee for RM89 a box.

PACKAGING
The essence comes in a box that matches Huxley's usual packaging:

The bottle is flosted, and it feels super luxe! Compared to the mists, I definitely like this packaging more.

It comes with a pump for easy hygienic dispersion:

The mask box on the other hand is something new for Huxley! It more minimalist than usual and features embossing:

Similar to other Huxley sheet masks I've tried, it comes in a transparent package:

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
The essence has a pleasant scent that isn't too overpowering, and I like how the essence is nice and lightweight. I usually only smell it the first few seconds I pat it in. Because of the consistency, I use it both day and night.

As for the mask, the essence was so-so, nothing too spectacular for me. It was similar to other sheet mask essences I've tried before.

INGREDIENTS
The essence features mostly green EWG green-level ingredients, meaning its highly unlikely to irritate the skin or cause breakouts. Same goes for the mask!

The main ingredient of the essence is Cactus Ferment Filtrate, which I mentioned above helps with hydrating and nourishing unbalanced skin. It also features some fave ingedrients of mine like ceramide (for the skin barrier), trehalose + butylene glycol (for hydration) and tocopherol + adenosine (for anti-ageing and brightening)!

The sheet masks feature something called a cactus-derived ceramics complex which is supposed to moisturize & nourish dry, rough skin. It also contains aloe for extra soothing!

HOW TO USE
For the essence, I usually use it both day and night:

Cleanser > Toner > Essence > Serum > Moisturizer > Sunscreen

Whereas for the mask, I only use it at night:

Cleanser > Toner > Essence > Mask > Serum > Moisturizer

MY REVIEW & VERDICT
I love the convenience of this serum! The hydration and supple feeling in the morning is so...enough that I don't feel the need to layer on more products. Because of the lightweight-ness of the texture, I don't kind myself slacking with incorporating it into my routine daily.

For effects, I did notice a slight improvement with my skin's texture. It feels much smoother in the morning when I'm cleansing my face. I didn't get any breakouts from using it daily too, so it's been mixing well with the other products in my rotation.

For the masks, I do think that they're good boosters, especially when you want to simplify your night routine. Sometimes all I do after toner is this mask, followed by sealing it with a moisturizer. It's adequate enough to actually cut my skincare steps.

However, I do think that it's something that I don't see myself regularly repurchasing to use everyweek. Maybe once I run out I'll stock up again and keep it for a day when I want to boost my skin's radiance or on days when I'm feeling extra lazy, but I do think that it's a "nice to have" kind of product instead of a "must-have".

Do you need to use both together? Of course not, but I did notice that my skin felt and looked the best when I used both together. On a particularly bad day when my skin was inflamed because of som laser I did, using a combination of the essence and the mask did help soothe me immediately.

WILL I REPURCHASE?
I think I'll definitely be getting another bottle of the essence! I've been using it daily and I think I'll be out just in time for 11.11 sales haha.

For the masks, I do think they're worth a try. With the price it's not bad, and you can even share with friends and family if you want to.

And that's all for this review! If you'd like to check out these 2 products, you can find them on Huxley's Shopee:

Huxley Secret of Sahara Conditioning Mask ; One Moment • RM89.90

And that's it for this post! I hope you guys found it helpful and informative.
