COS Quilted Oversized Shoulder Bag Review

March 3, 2022

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing my review of COS's popular Quilted Oversized Shoulder Bag.

I first came across this bag on Instagram, and I loved the look of it. I couldn't get my hands on any of the nice colours, but here's some shots by this cool guy Razim who I follow on IG:

For this latest season, COS released a beige version of the oversized bag and I just had to get it:

I was lucky enough to visit the store on the first day that the bag was launched:

After a year plus of lusting over this bag, I finally got my hands on one!

Retailing for RM360, this oversized quilt bag is made from recycled polyester. Fully lined, the recycled polyester yarn is made from plastic bottles and extra scraps to reduce dust.

It's pretty simple: one big opening with a pocket.divider inside. There are 2 small pockets on the outside as well that can each fit a small wallet.

I also tried on this nice turquoise top, but I didn't get it because I thought I looked quite fat in it lol

On the flip side, here's what it looks like on someone thin:

On my way out, I also saw a brown version of the small size which is quite cute too.

I bought this bag to use as my gym/daily bag. I like how unique it looks, and it fits a lot. I can fit my huge toiletry bag, my water bottle and my essentials with so much more room to spare.

I think the material is nice and lightweight, and on its own, it actually sits upright and looks unique.

It kind of reminds me of this Zaha Hadid design from the Louis Vuitton X exhibition, if it was padded and inspired by Miumiu's matelasse/Prada's signature nylon haha.

When hung, it looks like this:

The colour is totally my vibe, and I love how I can go fully monochromatic with it:

However, not even a day after using it, the shoulder strap started having loose threads. I thought I could ignore it, but the body itself started falling apart a few days later:

They couldn't refund me or replace the bag, so the staff just cut it off and tried to knot them off.

I still use this bag daily, and I love it to bits. I'm just a bit disappointed with the thread issue. Even after my visit back, it still continued to get loose threads. I expect that in a year's time, it'll probably be in quite a bad state.

Oh well, at least it looks quite cute.

Recently had it with me while I was cafe hopping, and I managed to get these nice snaps:

I recently got one of these collectible cups from Balenciaga too~
