Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about the brand new Yehwadam Myeonghan Miindo line from THE FACE SHOP's Yehwadam Range, as well as the Special Gift Set that contains the Miindo Ultimate Oil & Cream.
If you're not already familiar with it, Yehwadam is THE FACE SHOP's anti-ageing line and the name is actually an acronym consisting of 3 words that represent the philosophy of the line:
YE (蘂): herbs and plants
HWA (花): flower
DAM (譚): story.
Created by LG Household & Healthcare's Whoo Laboratory at the Oriental Medicine Research Institute, the new Myeonghan Miindo range is a masterpiece. Combining the wisdom of nature and traditional Korean beauty knowledge, this range provides complete anti-ageing care for bright and elegant skin.
The term Myeonghan combines two Korean terms: Myeong from 선명한/bright and Han from 우아한/elegant.
Miindo (미인도/美人圖) translates to "a beauty's portrait", and this actually refers to a famous traditional painting by a Joseon painter.
This new line is recommended for people looking got products with premium herbal anti-ageing ingredients that help to brighten the skin, helping with skin nutrition, elasticity, whitening, and moisture at once.
I recently got a set containing the cream and oil from this line, and I'll be sharing all about them here today.

The cream comes in a 50ml tub while the oil comes in a 45ml bottle. Granted that these two products are premium + taking into consideration the sizes, I would say it's actually quite good/reasonable. Read on to learn more about the premium ingredients!
PACKAGING
Since this came as a set, it came in this box:
Both products look super luxe and premium, evoking a traditional Korean style even in the packaging:
As someone who has tried all of the Yehwadam ranges, I think this is the most luxe yet + my fave! They usually all follow the same shape with variations in colour/decoration. The Myeonghan Miindo line takes the cake because I love the colours + tones (lol), and it's just overall super Instagrammable.
The cream comes with a GORGEOUS motif on top, as well an intricate golden pattern on the sides:

The oil isn't as fancy as the cream, but it's just as grand:
You twist it open for the pump to come out, and you can use it to easily take/disperse the oil:
It's pretty easy to use, and I love the attention to detail. The twist pump elevates it from the normal pump haha.
Overall, 11/10 for packaging!
INGREDIENTS
The Yehwadam ranges always have their own unique complexes made of traditional herbs that make them unique. In line with this range's brightening (myeong) and elegant (han) concept, the Myeonghan Miindo range comes with Myeong Formula and a Han Formula.
Myeong Formula
A brightening formula to nourish the skin; consists of Goji Berry, Schisandra Berry & Corni Fructus
Han Formula
Consisting of tea and flowers to refine the skin, this formula is made of two components:
- Don Tea (돈차/청태전) : A traditional, naturally fermented green tea produced in Jangheung
- Hwayangchaehwa (화양채화/translates to colourful painting) : Four kinds of flowers that carry the vitality of the four seasons - Peony, Lotus, Saffron & Camellia
I analyzed the ingredients and found that most of the ingredients have a green or yellow EWG-rating, meaning they're highly unlikely to irritate the skin. Both these products are also paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free and contain minimal ingredients.

The cream contains Niacinamide that helps with brightening, Adenosine which help with anti-ageing and Titanium Dioxide which provides UV protection, It also contains powerfully moisturizing ingredients like Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol and Glycerin. Those with oily and sensitive skin will also enjoy the skin-soothing benefits of Green Tea leaf extract.

The oil, on the other hand, has Licorice root extract that helps fight acne & brighten the skin, as well as Pomegranate extract that promotes wound healing and Vitamin E that has moisturizing and anti-ageing benefits.
TEXTURE & FRAGRANCE
The cream has a nourishing texture with a nice floral scent. The scent doesn't linger long, and I find it tolerable.
The cream is indeed a cream, and although it sinks in quickly into my skin, I do think it's better to use it at night because of its richness. Although there is no sticky feeling, there is a slight shine.
The oil also has a slight fragrance which I don't mind, and it's transparent in colour:
It's not too heavy nor does it have that dry-oil feel. It's quite nourishing actually, and I love finishing my evening routine with this.
HOW TO APPLY
It's recommended to use these products in this order:
I personally think that the cream is enough and that the emulsion isn't necessary, at least for those around my age or with a similar skin type. I find that the cream is plenty moisturizing.

I don't use the oil daily, but I do alternate and use it around 3 times a week. I usually heat up a few drops on my palms and press it in at the end of my skincare routine, locking in all the goodness.
MY REVIEW AND VERDICT
It's been a few weeks now, and here's my verdict:
I love this cream! I do find that a little goes a long way and I don't really need a lot to cover my entire face. As I don't have any visible wrinkles yet, I didn't see any dramatic visible results. However, I do think that it's helped with my skin's firmness and texture, especially my forehead. I grazed it the other day bare, and I couldn't help but think that it felt softer than usual!
As for the oil, I do feel like it does a great job of sealing everything at night and conditioning the skin so that it's soft in the morning. I didn't get any breakouts while using this (or the cream), and I think it's a phenomenal face oil that does what it needs to do.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I think that if you're someone young and new to skincare, this range is definitely not for you. If you're someone in your mid-20s, you can consider it if you have the budget and want to infuse your skin with premium and traditional herbs and ingredients. To be honest I was impressed by the selection of rare and unique traditional ingredients when I did the Cosdna analysis.
However, if you're someone in your 30s and above, I highly recommend this line. I think you'll enjoy the firming benefits that the cream provides, and the oil will be great especially if you live in a cold country.
In terms of effects, I do think that my skin feels firm and moisturized. I'll continue to use these products because I enjoy the textures, and I want to keep my skin free from fine lines and deep wrinkles. My current eye cream from the Yehwadam Plum line (which I use with these products) is actually about to finish, and I wish the Myeonghan Miindo line also came with an eye cream. Till then, I'll look for a replacement!
