Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne 2020 Review

July 10, 2020

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing my review of Jo Malone's Osmanthus Blossom Cologne!

A little back story, Jo Malone releases their Blossoms collection annually, and from my research, they seem to have started doing the collections in 2017. In these blossom collections, new fragrances are released and some discontinued ones are brought back for a limited time.

Jo Malone Blossoms Collection 2018:

Jo Malone Blossoms Collection 2020:
Osmanthus Blossom Cologne
Silk Blossom Cologne
Waterlily Cologne
Yuja Cologne

As you can see, some popular scents reappear every few years. This year, the Blossoms collection extends to candles and diffusers as well, and the Blossoms collection also features luxe frosted glass!

Yuja Cologne
"This citrus fragrance—inspired by the discovery of verdant trees in a secret garden—will enliven the senses. It features the distinctive, exotic, and mouthwatering fizziness of the striking yuja fruit. Yuja is enhanced with the woody depths of cedarwood followed by a resinous touch of fir balsam."

Notes: yuzu, clary sage, cedarwood, fir balsam

Waterlily Cologne
"The dewy freshness of these floating blooms is enhanced with a flourish of jasmine sambac and neroli. Inspired by outdoor adventures, this fragrance features radiant white waterlilies—the crown jewels of a secret garden pond. The waterlily’s pristine petals release a clean floral scent that stirs and enchants."

Silk Blossom Cologne
"This fragrance captures the scent of nature’s blooms at their most tempting. It features the sweet scent of silk tree blossom—irresistible to hummingbirds and butterflies—and mixes it with notes of fresh apricots and a touch of spice. The scent is further intensified by clouds of powdery soft heliotrope nestling on a bed of moss."

Osmanthus Blossom Cologne
"Delicately exotic, these tiny white blossoms capture the duality of soft, apricot sweetness against contrasting deep, warming notes. Luminous petitgrain and luscious peach and orange flower ripple over voluptuous cashmere wood in this fragrance."

These were launched around April and was available here in Malaysia around May. However, due to COVID-19, I only managed to drop by Jo Malone around June to check it out.

Funnily enough, Jo Malone didn't carry the Silk Blossom Cologne. A few weeks later, Sephora had a 20% off sale and I helped a few friends buy their perfumes:

I realized that all 4 blossoms were available in Sephora, and after some deliberation, I got myself an Osmanthus Blossom Cologne.

From my knowledge, Jo Malone never does in-store promotions so it was definitely a steal. On top of that, Jo Malone was increasing prices on July 7th, so I just HAD to buy it hahaha.

I decided to get a 30ml because my 2 other 100ml perfumes from them barely have any dent, and I think getting another 100ml would be a bit too much haha.

I also said before that I wouldn't get another Jo Malone bottle as they're only lightweight colognes, but to be honest, they come up with such fresh, amazing scents that I just can't help myself. Though they're not the most long-lasting, I do feel like I'm still left with a hint of fragrance by the end of the day.

Would I recommend Osmanthus Blossom? I definitely would! It's not too floral nor does it smell old. I feel like it's a sophisticated scent that really perks me up whenever I wear it. If you can still get it, I recommend you do. However, if you can't, Jo Malone will probably bring it back a few years down the line so don't worry.

If you're curious, the price was RM295 (I bought it at 20% for RM265). The original colognes retail for RM280, so the 30ml Blossoms collection and the Lavender collection fragrances only sell for around RM15 more.

And that's it for this post! Thanks for dropping by my blog, see ya next time!
