花啡花 Flos Cafe Cheras Menu + Review

July 15, 2020

Hi guys! Today I'll be sharing all about my recent visit to 花啡花 Flos Cafe by Flos Cotidie, as well the cafe's menu & my review!

One of the hottest new cafes in town, this cafe was actually a bit hard to find. Note that it has no signs outside and is located on the 4th floor of a building. My bad, but I forgot to take a picture of the door/main entrance.

Address:
30-4-2, Jalan 5/101c, Cheras Business Centre, 56100 Cheras, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Opening hours:
Wed-Sun 11am-630pm
No walk-ins

Another special thing about this cafe is that you cannot simply walk in and have to create a reservation. There are only 4 slots daily. The cafe has 4 tables that can each accommodate 4 people max.

To reserve:
DM them on Instagram: @flos.cafe

Slots:
11am to 12.30pm
1pm to 2.30pm
3pm to 4.30pm
5pm to 6.30pm

To add on to the exclusivity of this cafe, you're required to pay a non-refundable security deposit of RM 30 for each reservation. Each pax is required to order one drink as well.

With so many rules in place, super limited slots and an ultra hidden location, you may be thinking, what is this place???!

Founded last year (2019), Flos Cafe was founded by Flos Cotidie, a flower shop. They've been gaining a lot of traction on Instagram from being the latest instagrammable spot, and I just had to visit it and snap some pics for my IG as well.

In this post I'll be sharing a ton of pictures of the cafe + the food we had there, and I hope you guys don't mind the abundance of pictures haha. It's been a while and I was a bit trigger happy.

When you reach the 4th floor, you'll first be led into the waiting area:

Beside the waiting area is a "flower" area where I was told they hold some of their flower arrangements classes/arrange bouquets.

The lighting here can be quite bad if the weather is cloudy, so I recommend checking your weather apps before making your booking. Lucky for us, the sun shone and we had good cameras with us haha.

Here you can snap nice OOTD shots, and they've placed a lot of aesthetic flower/plant related props around for you to take pictures and create aesthetic shots with.

Aesthetic set one: stones and a basket of branches:

Aesthetic set two: a large vintage mirror:

Here's Fufy who was my cafe date of the day! She helped snap some of the shots in this post as well.

Aesthetic set three: chandeliers!

Aesthetic set four: a glass island table:

Once you do enter the cafe, you'll see the four main tables for customers:

And right beside that is the kitchen:

They have a corner with plants near the washroom:

And there are two cats roaming about the cafe:

There are tons of vintage items around, and we literally took pictures in every nook and cranny of this place haha.

Flos has a selection of vintage items available for sale, and in one corner they have the bags on display:

Cue outfit shots:

Some more pics of the cats:

And some shots with this huge mirror by the kitchen:

On the far side of the cafe are the vintage clothes on sale:

And beside it are the vintage designer kitchenware + accessories:

And after brining you guys around the cafe and showing you all the aesthetic spots, lemme share all about their aesthetic (and unexpectedly very delicious) food!

Earl-grey Honey Milk Tea
RM18

We ordered two drinks, and one of them was this milk tea. To be honest, this was my least fave item we ordered that day. Maybe because I like sweet things, but this to me was a little too bland. For RM18, you can get better milk tea somewhere else.

Iced Vienna Coffee
RM22

This coffee was so good! I loved the presentation with the tiramisu powder on top + an actual vintage book page as the glass coaster haha. Though you can find good coffee anywhere else for cheaper, I liked the taste of this one and loved the presentation as well.

Midsummer Strawberries
RM16

Yes, these are literally just strawberries with gold flakes on them, topped with condensed milk. The strawberries were huge and super sweet! Paired with the condensed milk, it was just an amazing afternoon treat.

Vanilla Mille-Feuille
RM18

The first pastry we ordered was this Vanilla Mille-Feuille. This is a vanilla custard slice with strawberries, blueberries and cherries, and it was so good! The pastry was quite light and not too flaky, and it all worked together to create a dessert that wasn't heavy/overpowering.

Genmaicha Saint-Honore
RM18

This classic French dessert is a circle of puff pastry at its base with a ring of pâte à choux piped on the outer edge. I love choux pastries and cream puffs, and I really enjoyed this. Highly recommended! The custard inside is really good, and they weren't stingy with it as well. For the price, I think it's sosososo worth it, and if they did delivery I would totally order it from them every week haha. I didn't really taste any hints of genmaicha though, maybe I was too busy savouring the custard haha.

Altogether the items we ordered were perfect for an afternoon snack. They all were presented beautifully as well, and together they formed an amazingly aesthetic scene on our table:

For RM18-20+ per item, I think it's standard KL price and was actually super worth it. For around RM50 per pax, I managed to enjoy a nice afternoon snack and take a ton of pictures of my Instagram/content. I even snapped pictures of my new Jo Malone perfume at Flos!

Click here to read all about it!

I would highly recommend you guys drop by when you can, as their SOPs are pretty strict and the place is really picturesque. The tables are always sanitized before and after each slot's session, and there's a gap of 30 minutes between sessions.

If you're dropping by, I recommend booking the last slot as the sunlight would be nice around that time + you wouldn't need to rush to make way for the next slot.

And that's it for this post! I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post as much as I had fun snapping the shots.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, see ya next time!
