L'Occitane Big Little Things Campaign • Recycle and get products!

July 26, 2019

Hi guys! Today I'll be sharing about how you can recycle your used products and get new products in return at L'Occitane!

As a skincare lover and blogger, I go through lots of product packaging. It's important to be conscious of where your trash goes and to try to recycle and reduce pollution as much as you can.

L'Occitane has always been committed to recycling and keeping nature free from pollution. They are committed to achieving a circular economy where every material used can have a second life.

Click here to check out their website.

L'Occitane Malaysia recently partnered up with I-CYCLE Malaysia, a local solutions provider of waste separation & recycling, to reward their fans who recycle.

By recycling your beauty empties (from any beauty brand) at one of their 15 participating stores, you can earn and get free deluxe-sized L'Occitane products!

So one day, my team from work and I decided to clean up some product packaging in the office as well as our own and drop by L'Occitane!

When you first arrive, you will be asked to fill up a form so that they can track how many eligible items you have recycled so far. It's an accumulative format and you can keep on coming back to recycle and claim deluxe-sized L'Occitane products.

Basically, everything you bring can be recycled. However, not everything counts to 1 point. What type of product packaging does L'Occitane accept then? On their website they state:

a. Beauty packaging such as lip balm tubes, makeup remover bottles and pumps, fragrances bottles and pumps, and deodorant sticks.

b. Skin care packaging such as face care packaging, refill pouches, and dispensers and tubes for shower gels, facial cleansers and body lotions.

c. Hair care packaging such as pumps and caps from shampoo and conditioner bottles, hair care dispensers and containers, hair product trigger heads, and refill pouches.

From our experience, L'Occitane will not count items that they do not carry like makeup items as they themselves do not carry those product categories. They also will not count items which they do carry but does not meet the size requirement. An example of this is shampoo (where the minimum must be 125ml)

2021 UPDATE:

By the end of each cycle (1 cycle = 100 empties), you would have received 10 L’Occitane beauty treats with 2 cash vouchers worth RM10 each. A special perk for L’Occitane members is that you can opt for point redemption too! 10 qualified empties are equivalent to 10 member points.

Updated May 2021

The L'Occitane staff will sort through your empties. You must make sure that when you bring them there, they are already empty and dry. If they still have contents, though they may be eligible, L'Occitane will not accept them.

Here's our stuff segregated:

We only used one person's name to accumulate points, and that day we managed to get 75 eligible products! This means we got 2 full sets + 2 items from the 3rd circulation.

While waiting for the products to be sorted out, the staff were very helpful in telling us more about L'Occitane + sharing more about their products.

And that's it for this post! If you guys finish your products, don't just throw them away! Recycle them at L'Occitane and get a reward in exchange for your good deed.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog. See y'all in my next post!
