Belif UV Protector Tone-Up Sunscreen Review

July 7, 2019

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing my review of Belif's UV Protector Tone-Up Sunscreen.

Summer is upon us! It's super important to apply sunblock every day (even when it's not sunny out) to ensure that your skin is fully protected. Wearing sunblock not only shields your skin from harmful UV rays, it also helps keep your skin looking young and fresh. Sun damage is the most common cause of premature ageing, and as someone who wants to look forever 21, I plan on getting and using all the protection I can get my hands on.

Belif (one of my fave K-beauty brands ever) recently renewed their UV Protector sun care line and launched 3 sunblocks, each with a different texture and formula.

From left to right:
Belif UV Protector Almighty Sun Stick
Belif UV Protector Tone-Up Sunscreen
Belif UV Protector Multi Sunscreen+

With three new and improved products featuring both SPF and PA protection, each UV protector comes with additional benefits to suit different lifestyles, skin types and skin concerns. As you guys know, Belif believes in using herbs to improve the skin's health, and all 3 of these new UV Protectors contain a unique blend of protective botanical ingredients (that I'll be talking more about below)

In this post I'll be sharing my thoughts and review on one of the UV Protectors: the UV Protector Tone-Up Sunscreen.

The UV Protector Tone-Up Sunscreen is a lightweight and fresh cream-type sunscreen that is made to improve the appearance of dull skin, creating a young and youthful effect. With SPF50 PA++++ , it has a soft pinkish hue that instantly brightens the skin, leaving behind a soft-matte look that stays on all day while allowing the skin to breathe.

This product is available on THE FACE SHOP's E-store for RM164, but you can currently get it for only RM 139.40 + get a free full-sized product as well:

Belif previously used to only be available in Belif's flagship stores in KLCC + Mid Valley, but you'll soon be able to see them more often! Belif will be coming to THE FACE SHOP stores nationwide, and you'll be able to shop all of their best sellers with ease.

Similar to all Belif products, this sunscreen comes in a gray box:

In front, it shows that this sunblock is dermatologically tested + has a tone-up effect.

It comes with a convenient tube type dispenser that easily allows me to squeeze out as much product as I need.

This sunscreen has 50ml worth of product, and here's what the box packaging looks like up close:

Like all Belif products, this sunblock is formulated without mineral oils, animal-derived ingredients, synthetic fragrances, tar pigments and synthetic preservatives.

As I mentioned above, this sunblock features a unique blend of protective botanical ingredients, and these ingredients help protect and improve the skin:

1. Noni - provide calming effect against sunlight
- A fruit native to the French Polynesia that is used to treat wounds and inflammation

2. Woodbine - anti-oxidant effect
- A weather-resistant herb also known as Honeysuckle. Used as a healing herb since ancient times, it is used alleviate swelling & inflammation

3. Calendula - protects skin against UV-induced stress
- One of my fave flowers in skincare, Calendula is used to treat wounds & infections.

4. Molokhia - prevents premature ageing
- Rich in minerals and contains 20x carotene, 35x calcium, 20x vitamin B2 than spinach. Rich in antioxidants, this ingredient was said to be used by Cleopatra to moisturize & improve the skin's strength.

This product is pinkish in colour and has a lightweight, cream-type consistency. It has a slightly floral scent that I'm not really a fan of, but it dissipates after application.

After spreading it out, it does leave the skin looking 1 shade brighter, but it doesn't have a white cast. It leaves a matte finish which is pretty comfy and not stuffy at all throughout the day.

Like with all my sunscreen, I apply this during the day after my moisturizer. For best protection, apply your sunblock 30 minutes before you step out into the sun!

After using this sunblock for a while, although I think it works well, I'm not really a fan of it. I don't really like the scent, and although you can only smell it for a few seconds before it dissipates, I still get slightly turned off by it. The texture itself isn't bad and feels pretty light and comfy on the skin. However, if you're like me who prefers lighter, more gel-like textures, the light lotion texture of this sunscreen might not be for you.

I think out of all 3 sunblocks that I got from Belif, my fave would have to be the multi sunscreen (I'm a huge fan of the glowy look + I love the scent) while this tone up one would be my least fave. Although the tone up one is also good, I didn't really like the scent of it nor did I feel like having a toned-up face every day. I just feel like I will get the most use out of the multi sunscreen. As for the stick, I do like it, but I prefer to use it in the office. Before I leave for work, I pat in the multi sunscreen at the end of my skincare routine. I then top up during the day with the almighty sun stick. By the middle of the day my sebum secretion will be at its highest, and I feel like the almighty sun stick's matte finish is perfect for bringing my shine down a notch (while still giving me protection).

Although its an okay product, I don't think I would repurchase this. Out of all 3 sunblocks from Belif that I tried out, I think I'll repurchase the Multi Sunscreen & the Almighty Sun Stick. If you're someone looking for a product that can help you tone up your face + give you daily protection, however, I recommend checking this one out.

And that's it for this review! Remember to always wear SPF to keep your skin young + protected.

If you're interested in checking out any of the sunblocks I mentioned here on this post, you can try + check them out in Belif's flagship stores as well as online on The Face Shop's e-store.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, see ya in my next post!
