Novu Aesthetics now available in Sunway Pyramid

March 31, 2019

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing all about Novu Aesthetics and the treatments I tried out last weekend.

Now available inside Parkson, Sunway Pyramid, Novu Aesthetics is a low-fuss treatment centre where you can get safe and accessible non-invasive treatments fast and easy.

I think that a lot of people have a preconceived notion that going somewhere for aesthetic treatments is a hassle, expensive and requires downtime. Over the years there's been tons of innovation in the aesthetic industry, and there are more and easy & affordable options available.

Novu Aesthetics face a "Fasthetics" system where they want to provide safe, fast and effective doctor-approved treatments at pocket-friendly price points. They understand that people nowadays want quick results, and they want to meet and fulfil that modern need.

With over 7 million protocols done and delivered by qualified and accredited medical professionals, they currently offer treatments that are similar to a "Skin Gym". Similar to how you go to a gym to achieve fitness goals, these "Skin Gym" treatments help to slow down the effects of ageing and maintain good skin health while sticking to their pocket friendly prices.

When you first visit Novu, you'll get a skin consultation to discuss your skin issues and to see what treatments best suit your skin. They also keep a record of your skin's condition every time you visit so that you can track your skin's improvemennt.

The Novu Aesthetics in Sunway Pyramid currently offers 5 different treatments, and the best thing about their treatments is that they require no downtime! Paired with their super convenient location, you can literally drop by anytime, get your aesthetic treatment done and be on your way again. Literally walk in and glow out!

On my visit to Novu I tried out their signature P+ Phyto Laser as well as their new RF Eye Treatment.

After consulting with their staff, you will be led to one of their two room:

The rooms where they carry out the treatments are pretty neat, clean and private:

At the start of the treatment, the aesthetician cleansed my face.

The first treatment that I did that day was the new RF Eye Treatment.

This RF (Radio Frequency) treatment is ideal for lifting and firming skin that has lost its elasticity to bring definition back to your facial features. It utilizes RF waves to create heat energy within the skin to remodel tissue while boosting collagen and elastin production at the same time, effectively lifting and firming the eye area.

First, the product is applied to your area:

Next, the RF apparatus is used. It felt like a warm massage that was pretty comfortable on my eye area. Nothing too harsh. It was actually pretty relaxing and I almost wanted to sleep haha.

To be honest I don't have much eye wrinkles (yet) and my undereye area isn't too dark as well, but I was so shocked to see how much my eye area brightened! In the GIF below, you can see that my undereye area on the left is slightly darker than the one on the right.

I think this would be great for students who spend long nights studying or for avid gamers/drama watchers who stay up late into the night. It immediately brightened my undereyes, and I was pleasantly surprised by how bright it looked.

This treatment also covers the eyebrow area to completely lift up the eye area. I did feel like my eye area was lifted, and it did feel quite firm (but not taught).

Here's a GIF of Syd doing the treatment as well.

Next I did the P+ Phyto Laser, which is a multi-tasking non-ablative treatment that not only lightens the appearance of pigmentation, but also promotes skin rejuvenation, refines the skin texture, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The result is that skin looks brighter and clearer over time. And the best bit? It’s gentle enough to treat a wide variety of skin types and comes with virtually no downtime at all.

For this treatment my eyes were covered so I couldn't really film myself (lol) but here's Syahira doing the laser:

The laser wasn't as strong as other CO2 fractional lasers I've tried before, and the sensation was bearable. The aesthetician told me that since I didn't have much dark spots, she would focus on my (slightly) large pores. I didn't notice it immediately after the treatment, but the next day I did feel as though my pores on my laugh line area look smaller. Still there, but not as dilated.

After the treatment, my skin felt super smooth and soft! The aesthetician finished with a light therapy, moisturizer and some sunblock, and I was good to go. The entire treatment took a total of 25 minutes (the eye treatment took longer than the laser), which is pretty surprising compared to other aesthetic clinic + the immediate results.

Since Novu's concept is "quick" and "on-the-go", they offer an area for you to do your makeup right after your treatment if you would like to. I was going out afterwards so I decided to do my makeup, and I did feel that my makeup applied better! This is amazing because from my past CO2 Fractional Laser experiences, I usually cannot apply makeup immediately because my skin is still sensitive/shedding hair/red/irritable. I was assured that I could apply makeup immediately and would not need any downtime/experience any inconveniences, and sure enough, I didn't!

Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Novu. I think their concept of having a quick aesthetic bar is great and should be more widespread! You don't have to think of it as a heavy procedure or think of it as something serious. It's an easy treatment that helps you maintain your beauty, kinda like getting a hair cut, getting your nails done or getting a massage. Giving your skin some extra TLC is always a good thing, and it's even better if that TLC is affordable and has no down time!

Novu is currently offering a promo where you can try and 2 sessions of their treatments for RM168, which (for the results and everything considered) is really affordable. Since the eye treatment is new, it's not included for this treatment and costs RM168 per session. They have multiple packages available that significantly reduces the price, so you guys should definitely drop by and see which package best suits your budget.

I really enjoyed the treatments and will be coming back soon for more.
