COSRX One Step Green Hero Calming Pad Review

March 9, 2019

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing my review of COSRX's One Step Green Hero Calming Pad!

A few months back, I posted a snap on my Instatory about these pads, saying how I liked the packaging and how I was interested in trying them out. A few days later, Wynora.com reached out to me and asked if I would like to try the product out!

Just a disclaimer, as always this post contains my 100% honest opinions 😉

WHAT IS IT
This product is a toner pad that features only EWG green-level ingredients (meaning ingredients that are clean and very unlikely to irritate the skin). It's suitable for all skin types but is more suitable for those with sensitive skin as it focuses on weak acid exfoliation and soothing.

It contains 75% green tea water, 0.25% PHA and something called a Green-Rx complex that consists of dandelion leaf, centella asiatica, witch hazel, tea tree leaf, and mugwort extract.

WHERE TO BUY
These toner pads are available on Wynora.com for RM65. It comes with 70 pads inside + 135ml worth of product.

Wynora offers 100% authentic products from staple brands like Laneige, Innisfree & Nature Republic, as well as trendy brands like COSRX, Pyunkang Yul and Huxley. They offer free shipping on orders above RM80, as well as flash shipping within Malaysia. My parcel came to me in a little over 1 day, so it really was fast!

PACKAGING
The product comes packaged in a sealed tub and comes in a box when you first receive it:

The box is pretty simple and contains information in both Korean and English

The tub features COSRX's mascot Mr. RX, which I think is really cute.

I already peeled it off, but this tub came sealed at first.

INGREDIENTS
As I mentioned above, this product contains 75% green tea water, which contains antioxidants that help fight premature ageing. It treats oily skin, clears clogged pores, exfoliates the skin gently and reduces redness.

This product is free from any parabens, sulfates, alcohol, silicon and EU allergens, and it is fungal acne safe as well. Some of the notable ingredients I found from its ingredient list are Lactobionic acid (anti-aging) as well ass Panthenol & Sodium Hyaluronate (promotes wound healing)

I also mentioned above that it contains a Green-Rx complex, and that complex consists of Dandelion Extract (for soothing & skin barrier reinforcement), Centella Asiatica Extract (to improve skin texture & soothe the skin), Witch Hazel Extract (to soothe & hydrate the skin), Tea Tree Leaf Extract (for sebum & pore care) and Mugwort Extract (for soothing & skin vitality care).

TEXTURE & FRAGRANCE
The toner pad is similar to other toner pads I've tried before. I think that COSRX's pads are aptly sized: not too big and not too small either. They come with a textured side for exfoliation and a smooth side for toning.

One thing I like about toner pads is the ease. I also really like how the pads are already fully soaked in the product, ensuring that the product is effectively transferred onto my skin. It smells slightly like vitamin C tablets (citrusy), and I think its pretty fresh & energizing.

HOW TO USE
After cleansing your face, simply wipe the pad on your face and neck. Remember to go in upwards motions and not to get it too close to your eyes.

MY REVIEW AND VERDICT
I think these pads are quite good. I had a bit of breakouts from my instant-noodle streak a few weeks back, and this product helped to soothe that area of my face. I think it does a great job of soothing my inflamed acne + hydrating my skin. My skin feels pretty soft and smooth after using it, and I really like the scent as well.

That said, I don't think its a particularly strong or potent product. You definitely have to use it with other acne products as I believe that it alone is not strong enough to remove pimples and scars completely. If you have oily/acne prone skin and would like to maintain your skin, I would recommend this product. However, if you're someone who would like fast results, I recommend something with a higher PHA percentage or something with AHA/BHA like Some By Mi's toner. I do like this product for daily use, and since my breakouts nowadays are pretty mild, I don't mind using this to soothe them.

Another thing I'd like to point out is the amount of times you can use this product. Although there is 135ml worth of product here (higher than most toners/100ml) there are only 70 pads, and assuming you only use them twice a day, you can only use them for 35 days (a little over a month). As someone with a lot of skincare, I don't really mind this. However, if you're someone looking for something that'll give you more bang for your buck, I recommend getting a toner in a bottle form instead.

WILL I REPURCHASE
Overall I think this is a great product that helps maintain my skin's clarity and keep my acne at bay. It helps soothe my skin and smells really nice, and I wouldn't mind getting another tub when this one finishes. I typically only use toner pads during the day because they're easy & fast, so I estimate that one tub will last me 2 months plus.

And that's it for this review! If you'd like to give this product a try, you can get it on Wynora by clicking here.
