Belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask Review

December 2, 2018

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing my review of Belif's Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask.

As you all know, my journey with Belif has been quite a pleasant one. I had never really tried them out until I got a few products at the start of this year, and I've been loving them ever since. I also tried out their Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoule, and to date its one of the best ampoules that I've ever tried.

I got my hands on Belif's Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask a few months ago, and I'm finally here to share my thoughts about it with you guys! Ever since I realized that my acne skin reacts well to moisture products and breaks out less, I've been more keen on trying out more moisture products + was really looking forward to how this sleeping mask would work for me.

Let's go!

WHAT IS IT?
Inspired by Belif's best-selling Aqua Bomb moisturizer, the new Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask is an innovative sleeping mask with a jelly-pudding texture. Formulated with skin-soothing Scottish Heather and ultra-hydrating herb Lady's Mantle, this overnight mask promises to replenish and revive dull & dry skin, giving it explosive hydration for a dewy, radiant glow.

WHERE TO BUY
This product is currently not available online yet here in Malaysia, but its available in-store. The 75ml tub costs RM139.  Since its a sleeping mask, I don't really use it every night. I use it once or twice a month, and it's lasted me quite a while now so I don't really mind the price tag.

You can find Belif in the following malls:

belif Sunway Pyramid | Lot G1.82 - Tel: (03) 56136226
belif Queensbay Mall | Lot GF-20 – Tel: (04)-6447966
belif Mid Valley Megamall | G001A – Tel: (03) 22010645 / (03) 22010915
belif KLCC | Lot C11-A - Tel: (03)-2163 2163

PACKAGING
It comes in a grey box, and the product itself is packaged in Belif's signature black and white tub. In my experience, it's kind of hard to distinguish between all the tubs since most of them are basically the same (save for the text).

It comes sealed when you first open it:

INGREDIENTS
The ingredient list on SkinCarisma shows that it's full of EWG green-level ingredients, save for 6 yellow and 2 red ones (fragrance). It contains no Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, Mineral oil, Petrolatum, Synthetic preservatives, Synthetic dyes, Synthetic fragrances & Animal origin ingredients.

Belif mentions that this product contains Lady's Mantle, a moisturizing herb used since medieval times by European women to keep their complexion smooth and youthful. It also contains Scottish Heather, a soothing herb known for its anti-inflammatory properties

Aside from having Napiers Original Formula inside it (like all Belif products), it also contains a special Napiers Aqua formula, a formula which moisturizes and cares for the skin by supplying abundant levels of hydration for increased elasticity and smooth, supple skin.

TEXTURE & FRAGRANCE

While Belif's The True Cream- Aqua Bomb has a water gel texture (similar to Mamonde's Rose Water Gel Cream), the Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask has a water gel-pudding kind of texture (similar to Klairs' Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask).

It's blue in colour and smells quite minty. It's cool upon application and feels very cooling/refreshing. I find that its very nice to use when I'm super tired/spent the whole day on my laptop.

HOW TO USE
Belif says that you can use this after moisturizer or you can skip moisturizer and use this instead. Simply apply a thin layer on your face overnight and rinse it off in the morning. It's advised to keep this in the fridge, but for me I don't. Even if I don't it's still pretty cooling, but if you want some added cooling benefits (like if you were out in the sun all day), definitely keep it in the fridge.

MY REVIEW + VERDICT
After a few months of using it, I can say that I quite like this mask, even more than my other sleeping masks. It absorbs quickly into the skin and spreads easily, leaving a super thin barrier. The barrier is not thick nor super shiny, but it is there. It feels a bit sticky once absorbed, but I don't mind it since its not overly so + its a sleeping mask and isn't meant to be used as a daily moisturizer anyways.

Compared to Belif's The True Cream & Aqua Bomb & Mamonde's Rose Water Gel Cream, this one definitely provides more moisture to my skin with less product. With those 2 creams I mentioned, although they're great for the morning I usually need to apply a heavy thick layer to get the amount of moisture I would like at night. With the Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask, I need to apply only a thin layer to get the same amount of hydration/feeling of moisture on my face.

Compared to Laneige's Water Sleeping Mask, this one feels very similar. They're both cooling and both leave a similar finish. The few differences I could find was that I preferred Belif's pudding-like texture over Laneige's water gel texture, and I also preferred the scent of Belif's Aqua Bomb over Laneige's Water Sleeping Mask.

After washing it off in the morning, I can feel that my skin does feel nicer/more hydrated. I think its great for when I need great skin the next day/have an event to go to and I want my makeup to go on my skin nicely. It didn't break me out, and I feel like it helped to cool and soothe my skin when I did have breakouts from stress/eating.

WILL I REPURCHASE?

Overall I think this is a very solid product, and I wouldn't mind getting another one! The texture + scent are pretty nice & it does what it says it'll do. I think RM139 is not super affordable, but since I only use a bit of product + it'll last a long time, I don't mind splurging a bit for it.

Aaaand that's it for this post! If you're interested in trying out this product as well, you can drop by any one of Belif's stores to swatch it/try it out for yourself.
