Double Dare OMG! Pulling Gel Kit Review

October 31, 2018

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about Double Dare's OMG! Pulling Gel Kit.

Double Dare is a skincare brand from the US that was founded last year (2017) in January, and they're a brand that aims to offer the finest products for people on the go. They specialize is masks, and they recently became available on Stylekorean.com.

One thing I immediately noticed about them when I stalked them on Instagram is that they seemed to be okay with featuring both women AND men on their social media, and that immediately gave them brownie points in my book hahaha

Stylekorean reached out to me and asked if I would like to receive Double Dare's OMG! Pulling Gel Kit in exchange for an honest review, and since I thought the products were quite interesting, I said yes! Just a disclaimer, although the product was provided, this review still contains my honest thoughts and experience with the product.

Leggo!

WHAT IS IT
This set comes with a gel and a brush, and it aims to gently pull away stubborn blackheads from the nose area, exfoliating it with strawberry seeds and dissolving dead skin cells in the T-zone area to achieve a visibly clean complexion.

WHERE TO BUY
This product is available on Stylekorean's website (link here) for USD28 (~MYR116). It comes with the I.M.BUDDY Mini Brush and 30g of product. You can also get just the product (at the same size) for USD15.

I also got the OMG Hair Band (USD8), and it's available in white, purple, pink and of course black.

PACKAGING
The gel, brush & hairband all come in a box boxes, and both the product + brush come presented nicely on a faux velvet plastic holder:

The gel comes in a tube (sealed) and contains 30g of product:

The I.M.BUDDY Mini brush is made of silicone and has three different brush sizes. Big below, medium on one side and small on the other:

INGREDIENTS
Aside from strawberry seeds, Papaya Fruit Enzyme tightens pores while Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Glycolic Acid brighten and refine for glowing results. Hyaluronic acid and Jojoba seed oil hydrate and smooth the skin as well.

After screening the ingredients on Cosdna, I found that the ingredients are all rated green/yellow, meaning they will not/are very unlikely to irritate the skin.

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
The product itself has a dark colour and is very sticky. At first I thought the strawberry seeds would be humongous, but they're actually very small and gentle. The smell is SUPER delicious, like strawberry candy!

This product is supposed to warm up to open the pores, and I did feel it warming up my nose area as I used it.

HOW TO USE
It's recommended to apply the product on damp skin, and to massage it in for 1-2 minutes. You can use your hands, but using the I.M Buddy Mini brush is supposed to give a more intense exfoliation. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

MY REVIEW & VERDICT
I wouldn't say I have a very bad blackhead problem, but I do have a lot of dirt that accumulates in my nose area daily. To remove that dirt, I'll usually use a sugar scrub or use my nails to dig them out myself. Using my nails is more effective but I know that it's not good because in the end I'm pressuring/literally digging into my skin.

The gel did soften my skin a lot and get rid of all the dirt. I think it contains just the right amount of seeds needed to exfoliate my skin/remove the nose dirt/sebum I mentioned. It warms up nicely and opens up my pores effectively.

I think overall I would recommend this product to someone who would like to have a gentle solution to getting a softer/cleaner nose area. It's not a "must-have" item, definitely more of a "nice-to-have".

As for the brush, it's kind of okay. Personally, I prefer my Foreo Luna Mini, and I think you would be better off using an electronic silicone brush instead anyway. I personally feel this way because I'm very lazy ahaha. I'd prefer if it was automated.

WILL I REPURCHASE?
I think the gel is okay, and if I were to see it on sale, I'd definitely repurchase it. As for the brush, I don't think I'd get it (or recommend you all to get it as well). However, do get the headband! It's not too tight and I love it because it's so plush and soft ahahaha. One of my top headbands to date!

Aaaaaand that's it for this post! I hope you guys found my thoughts and experience with the product helpful and informative. See y'all in my next post!

  1. Thanks for the review. Ate you sure what you call dirt isn't actually blackheads? Blackheads are just sebum that has oxidized and turned dark from exposure to oxygen.
