Etude House Drawing Eye Brow & Color My Brows Review

February 28, 2017

Welcome back to my blog! Today's post will be about my review on these two brow products: Etude House's Drawing Eye Brow eyebrow pencil & Color My Brows brow mascara!

I'm a huge fan of all things Etude House, and I also recently reviewed their Play 101 Stick Contour Duo (which you can read all about by clicking here)

Brows are super super essential to any look. They frame the face and set the mood for your whole look. They're especially ultra important for me because a slight mistake or curve can make me look either angry or calm!

I'll first be talking about the pencil, then the browcara~

I decided to try this pencil out because I've been depending on my NYX brow powder quite a lot, and I decided to shake things up a bit.

There's no fancy packaging to the pencil. You basically just get the pencil on one end and a brush on the other:

Etude recently added a new shade, making this product available in a total of 7 shades:

Apparently there's also more product!
I got mine in the shade Dark Brown. It retails for RM47 but I got mine for only RM13 at Althea.kr!

Here's what it looks like when twisted out:

And here's what it looks like swatched on my arm. It's not super thin, but I find it okay to work with:

The shape of my brows are originally very arched and angry but I want straight brows for that calm and cool Korean look, so I've plucked and shaped them out. All I need to do is to define it and to fill in the empty areas.

Here's a comparison of what my brows look like before and after filling them in:

They look super different huh? I basically just draw a straight line below and above, fill it in and kind of ombre at the start. It's easier to make the ombre effect with powder~ With this pencil you kinda wanna rub out the product with the brush to create a sort of gradient.

Here's another comparison picture to show you guys just how important brows are:

Although they now look on fleek, they still kinda look weird since the black color of my brow hairs contracts with the brown pencil. I could have gone with black, but since I'm blonde now I thought dark brown would be better (like Cara Delevigne, ya know?)

How do I make them fully brown you ask? With brow mascara of course!

I first saw a Korean beauty YouTuber use this (I think it was Lamuque), and I was so amazed. I didn't have to bleach or dye my brows!

This product comes in 5 shades:

They didn't have a dark brown like the eyebrow pencil, so I went with shade #1 Rich Brown

This product retails for RM62 on the official Etude House website but I got it for only RM19 on Althea.kr!

The spoolie looks like what a normal marcara's spoolie would look like:

The product is very creamy~ you just run the spoolie through you brows and voila, your brows are a different colour!

When I first bought it, I actually thought it didn't make a ton of difference. I thought it was such an extra step, like, why would I want to do this? After the course of a few weeks however, I learned that this product is 100% gold, I can't live without it now! I just feel like brown brows with black brow hairs look super weird now.

The browcara makes your brows more evenly coloured, but since you're applying cream to the, they kind of stand out and don't look as soft as I would like them to be:

Anyways, I still like them. They definitely make my brows look more uniform and on fleek!

Both products I mentioned above are super cheap and I'll definitely be repurchasing both! Here's my straight Korean brows in action:

And that was it for this review! I hope you guys found it helpful. Special thanks to my sis for helping with the drawings! 💕
