#MamasanDay | Little Wonton Cafe

January 8, 2017

'Twas an afternoon filled with bloggers, noodles and lots of chatter! Yesterday I attended Mamasan Tammy's birthday party and I got to chat and get to know the gang a little more.

The party was held at this quaint cafe called  the Little Wonton Cafe:

I was told that they serve fusion food and I haven't really tried any kind of fusion food before. Mainly because when I think of fusion I think "how is that flavour supposed to work?"

Anyways, as I entered the cafe I was greeted by Pingo, who I unfortunately didn't get a chance to take a picture with 😭 *I was so disctracted hahaha*

Can you believe that I took the photo above with my phone? I just discovered my phone's selective focus feature and omg doesn't it look damn nice?

Back to the cafe! The aesthetic was very nice! It was very heavily Chinese themed and the whole place was very cozy.

If you're wondering why the name of the cafe is Little Wonton, it's because they specialize in air fried wontons! Air fried wontons have no oil & no MSG, plus they're wrapped daily!

There were around 40 of us guests and the space was more than enough for us all (I came a bit early that's why there's no one in the pics below hahaha)

They have quite the selection of flavours for your wantons and noodles to choose from:

Do you see those noodle flavours! I was most intrigued by the peanut butter noodles and the vinegar garlic lychee noodles. Being the sour fanatic I am, I ordered the vinegar one.

While waiting, we were served a platter with wontons, curry fish balls and fried chicken.

The wontons in this platter were fun because there were actually spicy and non spicy wontons, but you had to eat them to know which is which! The spicy was had a slow burn to it and although I like spicy food I preferred the non spicy ones hahaha.

The chicken was quite good too. We all tried to be fancy and eat the chicken with our toothpic thingamajigs but ended up eating them with our hands anyway haha.

Shortly after, the noodles came! Did I mention that you can opt for charcoal noodles? Most of us did! Here's Sara's Creamy Roasted Sesame:

Dash & Lee Yann had the Spicy Thai:

And my Vinegar Garlic Lychee *with actual lychees omg do you see them?

With the lychee and the vinegar in, I thought it was gonna be kinda weird, but the garlic balanced everything out perfectly! I'm kinda getting hungry thing about it right now haha. The noodles were perfect and the lychees were great! There was this dried chili thing (which I forgot to take a picture of) that we added to our noodles, and that made them even better. I definitely recommend this flavour!

After our stomachs were full, we chatted and caught up. I really enjoyed chatting with Dash and Lee Yann! I also got to chat a bit with Sydney and a few of the people from the Althea team~

We found this nice spot to selfie and just vain-ed the house down hahaha

After that it was more chatting~ People slowly started leaving, but a few of us stayed for desert. We were actually chatting so much that we didn't realize that the dessert was already served and almost finished hahaha. We had apple cinammon wontons, banana chocolate wantons and banana caramel wantons. The banana chocolate one was the bomb!

I really enjoyed chatting with Dash! We talked about makeup, YouTube and all that good stuff. Hopefully we can collab soon!

And that's it for this post! Thanks again Tammy for the invite and Happy Birthday! I hope you like my gift 💓

Kinda sad that I forgot to take a solo pic with you tho 😭😭😭

And that's all folks! Thanks so much for reading, I'll see ya guys in the next post!
