Backlane Coffee is actually located inside a building, so you can't see it immediately when you pass by Jonker Street. I forgot to take a picture of the shop lots in front of it but they do have a sign outside so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

The interior is just too pretty for words! It has everything a hipster cafe needs: props, good interior, lots of light for pictures and lots of green plants for that added "tumblr aesthetic feel"!

Near the entrance there's this corner where a few cups are on display. I'm not sure whether they're for sale but it gave the cafe a Starbucks/Coffee Bean feel to it as well haha.

MENU

Backlane has quite the drinks menu, offering a selection of hot and iced coffee, tea, chocolate, honey drinks, etc. at okay prices:

They also offer a savoury menu *aka food* as well as some slow juices. I looked up their Facebook page and found out that their menu changes quite often, which is great if I do say so myself.

Backlane also has a decent selection of pretty cakes and desserts to choose from:

On with the foodporn shots!

Lemon Lime Meringue RM13

This was quite the treat! The meringue is below and kinda acts like a crust, white the rest of the lemon lime "cake" was sooooo frickin nice! It had the consistency of a cassava cake and my god I swear I went to heaven.

Iced Latte RM12
Iced Mocha (w/ ice cream) | RM14

The iced latte was okay and according to Fufy the iced mocha was SINFUL (as in in a good way). It had a good amount of both coffee and chocolate whose taste was amplified by the ice cream and the whip cream.

Biscotti | 80 cents per piece

Backlane also has biscotti available and they're quite worth it. They also have small meringues for free at the counter.

This was actually our second time coming to this cafe! We ran into it by accident while walking around Jonker and thought that it was so pretty that we just had to revisit it when we looked less ratchet and sweaty. Anyway, we had their nachos the first time we were there and they were so-so~

Backlane is a picturesque and quaint cafe perfect for an afternoon chilling session, a meetup with your friends or just for a cool drink. Definitely drop by when you're in Jonker!
