Belif Manology Ultimate Multi Cleansing Foam Review

June 14, 2020

Hi guys! Today I'll be sharing my review of Belif's Ultimate Multi Cleansing Foam from the Manology line.

As you all probably already know, Belif is an apothecary skincare brand and they love using plant extracts + their own secret formulas in their ingredients.

The Manology line is a simple but powerful range created by Belif, and although skincare is for all, it can't hurt to use products that are specifically tailored to some issues that men face (like pores, shaved skin, etc).

The Manology line consists of 3 "sub" lines made to cater for all skin types:

Manology 101
For sensitive skin
1st skincare line for those in their 20s

Original Aqua Bouncing
For dry/mature skin
For maintenance for those in their 30s

Original Sebum Control
For oily/acne skin
For maintenance for those in their 30s

I recently got the cleanser for all skin types, as well as the toner and moisturizer for oily skin:

In this post, I'll be sharing all about the cleanser!

WHAT IS IT
A gentle whipped foam cleanser with Sage extracts, Belif's Manology Ultimate Multi Cleansing Foam exfoliates and dissolved impurities to reveal a refreshingly clean and clarified complexion. Great for use as both a cleansing and shaving foam, this calm and soothing cleansing foam removes excess oil, leaving the skin non-irritated and pure.

PACKAGING
The Manology products come in Belif's signature grey box packaging:

Though I noticed that these ones have a few nice new details, like how there's a Manology logo for this range, and there's this chic imprint in tiny tiny text about the Manology line's philosophy haha.

Here's the front and the back:

Pretty easy to work with as it's in English.

The product looks like any cleanser foam's tube, and it comes sealed when you first get it:

INGREDIENTS
All Belif products do not contain mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, synthetic preservatives or animal origin ingredients. This product, in particular, is also pareben-fee, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free and has minimal ingredients.

Water, Myristic Acid, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Potassium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Glycol Distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Roor Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Peucedanum Graveolens (Dill) Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower/Leaf Extract+, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Ex- tract+, Nepeta Cataria Extract+, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sodium Cocoy Glycinate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Trisodium EDTA, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil,Citral, Limonene, Linalool

The ingredients are mostly EWG green-level ingredients with a few yellow ones, meaning they're unlikely to irritate the skin.

The yellows are mostly natural fragrances, and I've stated a lot of times before here on my blog that I don't mind fragrances that much. These ones are of natural original (not synthetic) and I found that they didn't break me out + smelled quite pleasant.

The key ingredients in this cleanser are Sage (which increases skin elasticity to promote skin regeneration) and Chamomile (which has anti-inflammatory properties, reducing redness and blemishes while relieving skin irritations).

I think people with dry skin will enjoy this because of the powerfully moisturizing ingredients like Glycerin, and those with sensitive skin will feel really soothed because of the Chamomile, Aloe and Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil.

This cleanser also contains new formulas that Belif created for the Manology line, This cleanser, in particular, contains 2:

Baldeech Original Formula
Provides soothing and moisturizing care for healthier skin

Baldeech Aqua & Firming Formula
For moisture and skin elasticity

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
The cleaner is slightly paste-y in texture with a light gray colour. When I first heard that it did light exfoliating, I was scared that it would have beads. However, Belif didn't disappoint and it actually does not contain any beads.

It foams up pretty nicely, not too much, just enough. The foam is dense, and I find it quite nice.

HOW TO USE
I use this as the first step of my skincare routine.

Cleanser - Toner - Serum - Moisturizer - Sunblock

MY REVIEW & VERDICT
This cleanser is actually pretty paste-y/thick and doesn't foam much, which I don't mind. It still foams if you add a lot of water and foam it up (like if you wanna use it for shaving), but I don't have enough facial hair to do that haha. It kinda smells like lemon candy (just a slight scent), and after washing it off it does feel like my skin is very clean. It doesn't leave me feeling tight or dry, which is great!

In terms of removing impurities, I think it does a good job of cleaning my face. Although it cannot really remove blackheads on my nose, I realize that I have less dead skin cells on my toner pads when I do use this cleanser. Overall it gets rid of all the excess oil and sebum I have at the end of the day without really stripping my face of any moisture. Its gentle enough for morning use as well.

In terms of exfoliation, it is very gentle and smooth. I didn't get any negative side effects from using this cleanser, and I did notice that it didn't irritate my upper lip area (which is currently my most problematic area).

As for the anti-inflammatory effects, as I mentioned my upper lip area is my current problem area. Although I didn't notice any big difference in that area from using this cleanser alone, I did realize that it wasn't red or irritated.

WILL I REPURCHASE
I think it's a great basic cleanser which covers all the bases, and I would definitely recommend this to all the guys out there. It does everything that it promises it will and I love the scent. In terms of price, I think for 150ml it's not too bad. It's not the cheapest, but compared to other apothecary brands like Kiehls (which I place on the same level), it's definitely cheaper.
