Protect yourself with The Body Shop's Tea Tree Products

February 18, 2020

Hi guys! Today I'll be sharing all about The Body Shop's Tea Tree products + how you can use them to protect yourself.

Tea tree oil is distilled from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia plant, and it possesses antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antifungal properties. It helps to keep skin, hair and nails healthy, and in addition to its scientifically backed benefits, tea tree oil is inexpensive and safe when used properly.

With the Corona virus out and all, I thought I'd share a few ways on how you can use tea tree products to stay clean and protected, well away from germs.

Tea Tree Hand Wash • RM49.90
275ml

It's important to wash you a number of infectious diseases can be spread from one person to another by contaminated hands.

You should wash your hands thoroughly:
  • after using the toilet or changing nappies
  • before, during and after preparing food
  • between handling raw and cooked or ready-to-eat food
  • before eating after using a tissue or handkerchief
  • before and after attending to sick children or other family members.
  • after smoking
  • after handling rubbish or working in the garden
  • after handling animals

The Body Shop's Tea Tree Hand Wash comes with a lockable pump and easily dispenses product:

It has a nice scent and you don't need a lot to make it lather:

To wash hands properly:
  • Wet your hands with clean, running water, turn off the tap.
  • Apply soap and lather well for 20 seconds (or longer if the dirt is ingrained).
  • Rub hands together rapidly across all surfaces of your hands and wrists.
  • Don’t forget the backs of your hands, your wrists, between your fingers and under your fingernails.
  • If possible, remove rings and watches before you wash your hands, or ensure you move the rings to wash under them, as microorganisms can exist under them.
  • Rinse well under running water and make sure all traces of soap are removed.
  • Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them. It is best to use paper towels (or single-use cloth towel).
  • Dry under any rings, as they can be a source of future contamination if they remain moist.

It doesn't feel dry at all after washing, and I love how the scent lingers for a bit (before disappearing).

Jumbo Tea Tree Oil • RM68.00
20ml

With its powerful, purifying properties, The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil is great for quick application to help reduce blemishes. I've actually heard about it ever since I was in high school, and it remains a popular product for soothing inflamed skin and acne!

The 20ml bottle, in particular, is packed with the oil of 15,000 tea tree leaves, and it comes with a secure push-lock type of lock. The oil itself isn't too thick, and it smells amazing.

You can add a few drops to wet cotton pads to instantly transform them into sanitization pads:

You can also add a few drops to a bowl with hot water for aromatherapy! Inhaling it will help with colds and help you breather clearer.

Fuji Green Tea™ Hand Cream • RM25
30ml

Perfect for on-the-go hydration, this hand cream is infused with the refreshing scent of Fuji Green Tea. It has a light, gel-cream formula that absorbs quickly, helping to soften and protect your hands.

To help sanitize your skin and help it stay extra clean, add a few drops of Tea Tree oil to your hand cream or lotion!

The hand cream itself is really light and not greasy but super nourishing. When mixed with the Tea Tree oil, it feels slightly cooling and is so much more pleasing to my nose/senses because it smells amazing!
