LILYBYRED X ESTHER BUNNY Mood Liar Velvet Tint Swatch & Review

September 27, 2019

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing my swatches & review of Lilybyred's Esther Bunny Mood Liar Velvet Tint!

Continuing my Lilybyred spree! If you haven't seen my previous post about their Bloody Liar Coating Tint, click here.

Since last year, cartoon & animation character collabs have been very popular in K-beauty. Lilybyred collaborated with Esther Bunny, and the pictures couldn't be cuter!

Launching a whole collection in April this year (2019), the Esther Bunny Land collection was one of the most coveted products during Spring!

Among the products they launched was the Lilybyred Mood Liar Velvet Tint Esther Bunny Edition:

Compared to the Bloody Liar Coating Tint I previously reviewed, this one has a different formula as it's part of the Velvet Tint line. These are described to be highly-pigmented lip tints with a semi-matte finish.

I got these lippies from Major B, one of Malaysia's few (if not only) distributor of Lilybyred products!

Based in Sabah, Major-B is a K-beauty website that carries a lot of trendy and popular brands and products. From staples like Innisfree, Laneige, Klairs & Cosrx to hard to get brands here in Malaysia like Lilybyred & Espoir, they offer a lot! They even have hard to get limited edition items in-stock!

They also have an offline shop in Sabah if you're interested in dropping by:

Lot No.7, 1st Floor, Lorong Kenawai 6a, 88450 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

For East Malaysia, their shipping fee is RM5 below RM100 and free for orders above RM100. For West Malaysia, the shipping fee for orders below RM150 is RM10/free for orders above RM150. Delivery time takes 1-3 business days, and orders paid by 11am on a working day will be shipped on that day itself!

The Esther Bunny Mood Liar Velvet Tint costs RM42 on Major B's website:

Compared to the original Korean price of KRW9,000 (RM32), I think it's still not that bad + is still quite affordable for a tint.

The lip tints arrived in a thick teal box wrapped in bubble wrap, and inside it had lots of styrofoam to help keep it secure.

On top of that, they were wrapped in plastic. I'm really satisfied with the packaging of the order! I think this is one of the most secure + pretty looking packaging I've seen for a while. Some sites don't really put much thought into their packaging, so plus points to Major B!

The packaging comes with Esther Bunny branding, and it's so cute!

Similar to their other tints, there are no English descriptions on the packaging:

The shades are marked on top:

The tints are differentiated by the colour of the component itself + a cute design on the top!

The packaging is cute and I think it would make anyone want to buy and collect all 3 haha

The applicator isn't like the Bloody Liar Coating Tint where there is a curve. The doe-foot brush for this is more straight/similar to other tints.

There are also markings below the component to tell the shade:

Compared to the previous review, these tints have a different texture as they are from a different range. The texture is more whipped and the finish is suppsed to be semi-matte. They're also supposed to leave a stain as well.

There are three shades in total (Strawberry Choux, Chery Choux and Plum Choux), and here are my lip swatches + thoughts on each shade!

Strawberry Choux

Described as a fail-proof innocent creamy rosy pink, I feel like Strawberry Choux is a slighty orangy dusty rose colour.

The texture is really creamy and is quite opaque so it covers my dark lip line nicely!

Cherry Choux

Described as a lovely soft cherry violet-pink, I feel like Cherry Choux is a cool-tone fushia pink that looks great for pinky makeup.

It borderlines on slightly neon, so those who like bright lips will love this!

Plum Choux

Described as a magenta sweet red-pink, Plum Choux is similar to Cherry Choux but is warmer and slightly deeper.

Though I don't think I could pull this off on a daily basis, I think it's an amazing colour that would be perfect for a lot of makeup looks!

These are very creamy and have an almost whipped texture. They do have a bit of a shine to them, but they are indeed semi-matte. The feeling on the lips is very nice and airy, and very comfy to wear. They smell very nice and fruity as well!

These stain the lips as well, so they're great for all-day use. Would I say they're worth it? For the packaging, wear and colour payoff, I would say yes! It's very hard to choose a fave since all 3 shades look so pretty, but I would say I like Strawberry Choux and Plum Choux the most!
