The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Face Mist Review

June 6, 2019

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about The Body Shop's Skin Defence Multi-Protection Face Mist!

The Body Shop sent me this product a few months ago to try out, and I've been loving it ever since. Summer is in full swing, and it came just in time for my Bali trip!

WHAT IS IT
Available in a versatile mist format, The Body Shop's Skin Defence Multi-Protection Face Mist is a lightweight sunblock with SPF45 PA++ protection. Containing 5 different sun protecting ingredients, this sunblock offers on-the-go multi-protection from UVA + UVB rays, as well as from pollution particles (that we have so much of here in KL). It also has anti-ageing and brightening effects thanks to red algae extracts and vitamin C!

What I really love about this is that it's great for topping up your SPF while you're already outside. Did you know that it's recommended to reapply SPF every 2-3 hours? It's quite hard to do that if you're wearing makeup, so using a mist is a great alternative. It feels super lightweight + does not have that greasy feeling that other drugstore SPF products do. It also smells quite nice and floral!

WHERE TO BUY
This product is available in all The Body Shop stores + their online website for RM139.

PACKAGING
This product comes with 60ml worth of product + comes in a convenient spray bottle.

I didn't have any problems with the spray bottle and I find that it spritz wide/a lot of product in 1 spray.

INGREDIENTS
As you may already know, The Body Shop is cruelty free and forever against animal testing. This product, in particular, is also paraben free, sulfate free and silicone free.

The ingredients are all EWG 1-5 except for the Geraniol (fragrance). Geraniol is quite popular and is used in a lot of products (like Kiehl's). I personally do not react/break out to it and quite like the scent, but I thought I'd bring it up for those who are sensitive to fragrances.

This sunscreen also contains brightening ingredients (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate), anti ageing ingredients (Vitamin E), as well as 5 UV protecting ingredients (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Homosalate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate)

FRAGRANCE AND TEXTURE
The scent is floral with a slight hint of powder, not at all like the other spray SPF products I used before that just reek of greasiness/SPF. I quite like the scent, and it does not linger. The mist itself is lightweight, and I do not feel it on my face at all. The mist disperses quite evenly as well.

HOW TO USE
After moisturizing, simply spray it on!

MY REVIEW AND VERDICT
I really like the ease of just spraying it on and not having to apply it with my hands/waiting for it to absorb. It's quick and easy and does not feel greasy at all. Compared to my fave Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence, I feel like this is even comfier as it does not leave any shiny finish/feels like nothing on the skin. Of course, there are those days when I want a dewy, luminous complexion, but this is perfect for those days when I don't want to add on anymore shine.

In terms of protection, this was my best friend during my Bali trip and it did a good job of protecting my face. I did not get tanner nor did I get any sunburn thanks to my constant reapplication. Its also quite refreshing to spritz my face. It's not the most hydrating mist but it did feel slightly refreshing.

WILL I REPURCHASE
I think you're paying for a product that provides convenience & protection, and this mist covers both those bases very well. If you're someone who is always on the go and has no time for lengthy skincare routines, I recommend giving this one a go. When I run out of sunblock, I'll definitely reconsider getting another bottle.

And that's it for this post! I hope you guys found it helpful and informative.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, see y'all in my next post!
