Ok Go Store, SS18 • KL Curated Thrift Store

June 16, 2019

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about Ok Go Store and their new store in SS18.

Ok Go is a curated thrift store that sells second hand (and new) clothing for a very reasonable price. All their items are sustainably sourced and they have a very nice vibe about them. I've developed a liking for thrift shopping around last year because not only do you reduce, reuse and recycle, you also get to buy clothes for much less than if you were to buy them brand new. What's great about Ok Go is that the items they curate are good quality, fashionable and don't really smell/seem fishy compared to the other thrift shops/bundle shops I've been to.

I actually discovered Ok Go through my brother Euri. As a freelance photographer, he searches for outfits a lot. He's also familiar with some stylists in KL, and I think that's how he discovered them.

Ok Go was previously located inside USJ 21 Mall, and I dropped by a few times with my brother to check their stuff out:

Their clothes range from super affordable to mid-range, and I think their curation/style is something street style lovers/millennials will really like. One of the things I got from them was this Fila sweater (which I really really love):

They recently relocated to a new shop in SS18, and I dropped by their new store before my Bali trip to pick up some new outfits. To get there, I took the LRT to the SS18 and took a Grab there from the station.

Address:
OKGO Store, 1st Floor, 17A, Jalan SS 18/1b, 47500 Subang Jaya

Opening hours:
Tue - Sat: 12pm - 9pm
Sun: 12pm - 5pm
Closed: Mondays

The new store is more minimalist + looks really chic! Here's what the entrance/staircase looks like:

When you reach the 1st floor, you'll be greeted by their counter:

As well as the racks of clothes:

They have a lot of tops available, and not just casual ones. They also have blazers, formal wear, jackets and more available:

I really like how the pieces are arranged by colour!

Aside from tops, they also have a selection of pants. I almost went crazy during my visit because they had so many nice nude pants! I also managed to cop a nice pair of white denim Dickies which were in such great condition.

The tops and bottoms range anywhere from RM10 to RM60ish (from what I saw), which is super worth it compared to retail stores like H&M & Cotton On.

Aside from clothing, they also sell eyewear (which I don't think is second hand):

As well as some footwear. The footwear they have is quite high end, and most of them are in very good condition.

When I visited, they had a small table of accessories, bags and portable film cameras available for sale as well..

There is a sitting area outside with the clothes where you can layer on clothes to try or grab a cup of coffee:

The coffee is quite affordable:

Or if you'd like, you can try out the clothes in one of their fitting room:

Every inch of the store was designed/thought out, and I really like the vibes/decor:

Here are three of the many items I got that day:

I really liked the white denim Dickies because I've been on the market for white pants for a while now. As for the shirts, I was looking for nice shirts to bring on my trip that looked tropical + were thin and cool, and these shirts (which were RM20+ each) were no-brainers for me.

This jumpsuit (which cost around RM30+) was a unique piece too, and I decided to grab it since I did not have any jumpsuits in my closet, the colour was fun + it was so affordable.

Ok Go currently does not accept card payments, but they do take Maybank QR pay and cash. They're a plastic bag-free shop so remember to bring your own bag. Ecobags are available for RM1, but although I forgot to bring a bag to carry the clothes I bought that day, I opted to just struff them into my backpack and carry the others by hand.

I got a total of 2 pants, 3 shirts and 1 jumpsuit for RM190. If you divide RM190 by 6, each article came up to RM31.6. That's pretty cheap, and I was definitely satisfied with my haul.

And that's it for this post! I'm definitely dropping by again before my Vietnam trip in July, and I recommend you guys to drop by and check out their stuff as well.

Thank you fo much for dropping by my blog, see ya in my next post!
