Purito Centella Green Level Recovery Cream Review

March 20, 2019

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about Purito's Centella Green Level Recovery Cream.

Last year I did a post about my Purito discoveries, and I'm glad to say that they stood the test of time! 😍 I've repurchased their products + their Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence is still my current fave essence.

Purito stands for Purify +  (tu/soil), and it means to find the pure and safe wonders of nature found in our soil. They understand that Korean cosmetics are all the rage, but instead of relying on hype, they want to focus on ingredients that will benefit the skin. They focus on natura ingredients as well as having only EWG Green Level ingredients in their products.

Purito recently sent over 3 new items for me to try out, so this time around I'll be sharing my in-depth review about them with you guys.

The products that I received were the:

Centella Green Level Calming Toner
Centella Green Level Eye Cream
Centella Green Level Recovery Cream

All 3 products are from Purito's Centella Green Level Line, which means all of their ingredients are EWG green level/very unlikely to irritate the skin 💚.

Just a disclosure, although the products were sent to me as PR, I'll still be sharing my honest thoughts and experience with the products.

Without any further ado, let's get on with the review!

WHAT IS IT
Formulated with 50% high concentration of Centella Asiatica, this "ointment-like" cream helps to repair the skin, keep it wrinkle free, lighten it as well as to deeply moisturize from within. It quickly soothes any irritations and is not sticky once absorbed, making it perfect for acne/trouble care here in Malaysia!

WHERE TO BUY
If you live in Korea, you can get the full size 50ml bottle on Purito's official website for USD20.50, but you can also get it internationally on Althea for RM59 (You can take advantage of Althea's Purito Brand Day with the code PURITO20 to get an extra 20& OFF!). You can also get it internationally on Ebay by clicking here.

PACKAGING
The packaging is exactly similar to the Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream that I previously reviewed, but instead of being orange, it's green in colour.

Its packaged similarly to the other products from this line, and I find this squeeze type of moisturizer packaging more hygienic compared to to the normal tub-type.

It comes in a brown box made from recycled materials:

The opening comes sealed when you first get it as well:

INGREDIENTS
This product is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, EU allergen-free & fungal acne safe. As they claimed, the product only contains EWG green-level ingredients, which means that they will be very unlikely to irritate the skin:

Instead of using Centella Asiatica Leaf water that has only been soaked once and taken out, it this product contains 50% of high concentrated Centella Asiatica. This product uses the power of Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid & Madecassic Acid to stimulate collagen synthesis, activate cells and calm down inflamed skin, effectively reducing pigmentation.

Aside from those core ingredients, this cream also contains ingredients for brightening (Niacinamide) anti-aging (Niacinamide, Adenosine, Ceramide, Tocopherol/Vitamin E) as well as to promote wound healing (Centella Asiatica, Sodium Hyaluronate).

It also contains highly moisturizing ingredients that are good for dry skin such as Beta Glucan, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin and Tocopherol (Vitamin E), as well as ingredients that are good for those with oily skin like Witch Hazel Extract.

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
This product is white in colour and smells slightly citrusy. I personally don't like thick creams so I was apprehensive at first (worried that it may be too thick for me), but it turns out that this has a thinner, lighter cream consistency.

It feels quite cooling when you first apply it on your face, and sinks in/absorbs pretty quickly as well.

The finish is not sticky once absorbed, and there is a nice healthy sheen. It's not overly greasy and just leaves the skin looking healthy and glowy.

HOW TO USE
As with my other creams, I usually use this at the end of my skincare routine.

Cleanser - Toner - Eye Cream - Serum - Moisturizer

According to Purito, people with dry skin can layer it on an essence 3 times and seal it with this cream for that glass skin effect as well.

MY REVIEW & VERDICT
The best I've seen this product perform was on my small pimples/irritations. I applied this on my entire face and the next day, they were no longer inflamed and disappeared in a couple more days without worsening/scarring at all. I think that's quite amazing, and I was pleasantly surprised by it!

In terms of moisture, I think it does a good job of moisturizing my skin and keeping it moisturized. It's quite nourishing with a slightly balmy feel, but it feels very airy and light on the face, totally comfy! I feel like its quite firming as well, but not as firming as other creams that I've tried.

I noticed a slight improvement on my acne scars as well, and I think its because of the high concentration of cica. My scars look much lighter now and I think this definitely helps to boost skin turnover + healing my skin.

Overall it's a nice, moisturizing cream that really does heal the skin, preventing pimples from getting worse and helping scars to heal and lighten.

WILL I REPURCHASE
Definitely! I think one tube can last for quite a while, so the price makes it really worth it. I also quite like how it comes in a tube instead of a tub, dispensing the product in a very hygienic way. I recommend this to anyone looking for a nourishing/moisturizing cream that will help with your acne/troubles!

Aaaaand that was it for this review! If you guys are interested, you can check out my review of Purito's Centella Green Level Eye Cream here and Purito's Centella Green Level Calming Toner here as well.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, see y'all in my next post!

  1. Is the texture the same as dr belmuer moisturizer clarifying line? I've been loving dr belmeur moisturizer texture so much but im thinking to find other moisturizer which is much more cost effective :)
