BLIV O2 Bubbly Bright Oxygenating Mask Review

June 1, 2018

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing my review of Bliv's O2 Bubbly Bright Oxygenating Mask.

I've been aware of B.liv ever since my college days and I always thought it was a Korean brand. B.liv is actually a brand founded in 2009 and launched simultaneously in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau. Today, they can be found in shops worldwide and are actually quite well known nowadays for their pore management products.

I recently received this mask via The Butterfly Project in exchange for a review. As always, I was not paid to give a positive review and this post will contain my 100% honest feedback.

Let's go!

WHAT IS IT?
This product is an oxygenating purifying mask that promises to brighten & make the skin look alive again. It's 3 main functions are to Purify + Brighten + Exfoliate the skin, and it combines oxygen bubbles and rice powder to achieve that.

It's called a brighten "oxygenating" mask because when you apply it, the product will bubble up into a foam. The foam is supposed to soak up impurities from the skin while the red soft beads in the product gently melt away to exfoliate the skin, leaving it soft, smoother and glowy.

WHERE TO BUY
This product is available on Bliv's official Malaysia website for RM93.40, but it's currently on sale for only RM74.50. It's also available on Hermo for RM93.40 (kinda weird that they say that the full price is RM99 when Bliv's own website says full size is only RM93.40).

PACKAGING
The product comes in a silver box and I like that it comes with a small spatula for hygienic scooping. It comes with 50g of product and there is a lid for hygiene purposes to keep it sealed extra tight as well.

'
INGREDIENTS
The three key ingredients in this mask are the 02 bubbles (that penetrate deep into the skin to cleanse pores), rice powder (which moisturizes, softens & brightens the skin) and red cellulose beads (that gently dissolves and exfoliates the skin).

Except for 1 ingredient (Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether - EWG 4), all the ingredients have an EWG rating of 3 or lower, meaning they're very unlikely to cause irritation. People with dry skin will like this mask because of the hydrating ingredients (Butylene Glycol, Glycerin & Panthenol) while people with acne skin will love it too because of its acne-fighting ingredients (ˆ). This product also helps with anti-aging ingredients (Vitamin E). To view the full ingredient analysis, click here to check it out on Skincarisma.com.

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
The mask is slightly pink in colour and reminds me of pudding actually. You have to very careful after using it & remember to keep it tightly sealed. Otherwise, the mask will bubble.

It has a nice creamy texture and very easy to apply. It has a slight scent (which I don't really like), and the red beads are very gentle and almost non existent to be honest. The beads are not harmful or harsh.

HOW TO USE
I apply this mask after cleansing and toning my face. After applying it evenly, you'll immediately see it start to foam. It's pretty fun because it's kinda ticklish. It bubbles up pretty fast, and after about a minute, your face will be covered in a sheet of fine bubbles.

In the pic above is how it looks like when it's just starting to foam. You can see that bubbles are forming and it's starting to foam up!

If you rub the bubbles away they will foam up again, but by the third, they will not. Usually, I do not touch it and just let it foam up for a minute before washing it off with water. You'll notice that after a while the bubbles will start to disappear on their own, and usually, that's when I go to wash it off.

MY REVIEW + VERDICT
After using this mask for while, I think it's an okay product. It did slightly brighten my skin, but only in the slightest bit. The brightening effect did not last throughout the day, but I did notice that my skin looked nice and clear. It didn't remove my acne scars completely, but it did help to give a bright, clean and almost glowy effect.

After washing it off, I expected it to be dry/tight just because I thought the bubbles would have done something to the skin (lol my logic), but I was surprised the first time when I used it because not only did my face feel hydrated, it actually felt soft! I didn't rub the mask onto my face or anything because once applied the bubbles immediately start to form, so I think this is a great, non-abrasive way of exfoliating the skin!

WILL I REPURCHASE
Would I? For almost RM100 and just 50g of product, I don't think I will. For RM70+ I would consider it again, but at the moment I don't think I'll buy another tub. It's nice and all, but I don't love it enough for me to willingly buy another one. It's a great mask that softens + makes the skin look clear and even, and I recommend you guys to try it out if you catch it on sale. However, personally, I wouldn't repurchase this mask again.

And that's it for this post! I hope you guys found this post interesting and helpful. As always thank you for reading and I'll see you guys in the next post!
