It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC Cleansing Foam Review

August 21, 2017
Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! I'm super excited to share this post because it's my review of  It's Skin's Power 10 Formula VC Cleansing Foam!

If you're a Korean skincare addict, you would have probably heard of the It's Skin VC Effector serum series.

They're one of the most affordable and popular serums around, and I actually really love the VC serum (I've already gone through 5 bottles!)

WHAT IS IT?

Following the popularity of their serum range, It's Skin released limited edition gel to foam cleansers, sleeping packs, eye creams and creams. Unlike the serum line (which has 10 flavours), the cleansing line only has 5:

If you're unfamiliar with the Power 10 range, each product has different ingredients and specializes in a certain function. The Yeast (YE) one is great for is for enhancing skin vitality and normalizing skin turnover. The Vitamin C (VC) one is for brightening and whitening, the Vitamin B (VB) one is for sebum regulation, the GF one is for hydration and the Pore (PO) one is for reducing pores

Although all of them have different colours, all of them are gel to foam and are supposed to foam up like this:

Being a Vitamin C-holic and a fan of the VC effector, I got the Vitamin C one!

WHERE TO BUY?

I did some research on Naver and found that this product isn't even available in Olive Young/other Korean shopping sites. The only two places they are currently available in are It's Skin's site itself and Althea Korea!

A 120ml bottle costs RM27, and I would say that's pretty affordable. Its Skin sells this on their site for W8000, so Althea's is cheaper by a few ringgit. I'm not sure if Althea will restock it but the VC cleanser is now out of stock. If you see it in stock, make sure to hurry and checkout because you might not be able to buy this anywhere else!

PACKAGING

The cleanser comes in a standard matte tube. I can't remember if the cap was plastic wrapped or not but it had a seal.

INGREDIENTS

The main ingredients of this product are Vitamin C and Green Tea. According to It's Skin's site the main Vitamin C is Ascorbil Tertaisopalmitate which is an oil soluble derivative of Vitamin C.

FRAGRANCE + TEXTURE

I really like the fragrance of this cleanser! I was expecting it to smell like lemon (aka dishwasher smell lol), but it unexpectedly smells like oranges instead!

The texture is a smooth gel that lathers up. It doesn't bubble/foam up a lot and you only need a little amount to cover your face.

In the pic above, you can see what happens when you use too much. It doesn't dissolve and it gets stuck halfway.

HOW TO USE?

Cleanser - Toner - Essence - Serum - Sheet Mask - Moisturizer

You can use this as the first step of your skincare routine. It can remve makeup, but it my experience using a makeup wipe/gel is better and faster.

I also really suggest pairing this with It's Skin's VC Effector serum or Innisfree's Lemon sheet mask!

REVIEW + VERDICT

From using it for 2 weeks, I find this product alright. It did not break me out at all and my face felt thoroughly cleansed. It does not strip the face of oil and moisture and is a pretty decent wash.

My only expectation of this product is that it brighten up my skin, and I would say it does that but very subtly. My face looks slightly brighter after cleansing but throughout the day it looks like how it did before. Maybe I have to keep on using this to see more visible results.

Overall I think I would give this a 7/10. It does its job but not does not deliver dramatic results.

WILL I REPURCHASE?

I'll have to keep on using it but at this point I think I'm leaning more towards no. I really am underwhelmed because the serum worked wonders for me while this is more of a...meh product. What can you expect from a cleanser anyway right?
