Half Moon Eyes Pink Fruity Review

August 27, 2017
Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today's post will be all about these delicious multi-functional products from Half Moon Eyes: the Pinky Fruity!

WHAT IS IT?

This product is an 8-in-1 product that promises the following efficacies:

1. Pore Tightening
2. Cooling effect
3. Texture Care
4. Hydration
5. Nourishment
6. Moisturization
7. Exfoliation
8. Sebum Removal

At first I thought this was just a normal clay mask, but its actually a wash off capsule mask that acts as both a cleanser, an exfoliator and a clay mask.

WHERE TO BUY?

This product is available as a single for RM7 and a triple for RM20.70 on Althea.kr. Each capsule has 10g of product.

PACKAGING

The product comes packaged in a plastic capsule:

With the expiration written on the back:

Since the product comes in a capsule, you have to peel the top off to get the product. I kinda find this annoying because 10g is quite a lot of product for one face. If you plan on keeping the rest for future use, I recommend keeping the product in a zip lock bag or seal it very tight (so that it doesn't dry).

INGREDIENTS

On the packaging of the products, you'll a picture of Dragon fruits (which are the main ingredients of this mask). Dragon fruits have a very high antioxidant content which helps remove free radicals and save you from the sagging and dull skin. Dragon fruit is also rich in vitamin C that helps brighten the skin.

Aside from that, this product also contains patented ingredients as well as Hylocereus undatus. Hylocereus undatus is a species of cactus that has a high moisture content. Its also rich in Polysaccharides which help to lighten the skin.

FRAGRANCE + TEXTURE

The fragrance of this product is SUPER fruity that I was actually really tempted to taste it hahaha. Its super relaxing to smell!

As for the texture, its thick but fairly easy to spread. There's also dragon fruit seeds that help with exfoliation. If you don't wanna dirty your hands, you can always use a spatula.

HOW TO USE?

Half Moon Eyes' website recommends using their products in this order:

But on the back of the product it says that it's supposed to be used after toner lol. As for me, I usually use it as the first step of my skincare routine. It's recommended to leave this on for 10 minutes and to use it for 1-2 times a week. Here's what it looks like mid way:

Although its easy to spread, its quite hard to wash off (especially if you put on a thick layer).

REVIEW + VERDICT

1. Pore Tightening & Sebum removal
I don't have large pores to start with so I can't tell, but my skin did not feel ultra tight, nor did it enlarge my pores. Of course it removed my sebum (like any cleanser would), but my skin did look more matte than usual (like how your skin would look after a clay mask). I don't think it controls sebum in the long run though.

2. Cooling effect
Definitely! As you apply it, it feels super cooling, and as you wash it off it feels cooling as well! Paired with the fruity smell, it really wake you up haha.

3. Texture Care & Exfoliation
The dragon fruit seeds really do a great job of exfoliating the skin softly! Paired with HME's Milky Jelly Moisture Cream, it delivers super smooth skin that's awesome for makeup!

4. Hydration, Nourishment & Moisturization
My skin felt pretty soft and hydrated after washing the mask off. Since clay mask are usually followed by hydration, I'm more interested in the deep cleansing properties and not the hydrating properties. Bottom line: ok-ok I guess.

Each capsule can be used twice. When you open the capsule you'll see that it's half full:

Covering your face in a decent amount (not thin, not thick) will use up half of that, meaning 1 usage usually equals to 5g.

WILL I REPURCHASE?

Although it smelled awesome and was a pretty good product, I would only repurchase this if I needed to add on some more products into my cart for free shipping haha. It's alright and I definitely recommend it, but I don't think I will be repurchasing this any time soon.

And that's it for my review! I also reviewed HME's Milky Jelly Moisture Cream and their Milky Jelly Toner. Click here and click here if you're interested in reading my thoughts on those products!

As always, thanks for reading and I'll see y'all in my next post!
