Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Tea Party + Review

July 14, 2017

Last weekend, I attended the Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Tea Party with the Butterfly Project and I'm here to update you guys about everything that went down that day!

So in real Eros fashion, I came super late because I took my own sweet time doing my makeup. I've been so stuck with just using one brown eyeshadow, so that day I decided to spice it up by slowly doing my concealers and adding a bit of burgundy eye shadow (baby steps okay?)

Anyways, the tea party started off as a workshop introducing the products and Pika Pika itself. Pika Pika (ぴかぴか) literally means sparkle, and I think its the Japanese counterpart of the Korean Banjjak Banjjak (반짝반짝)

There were three products featured that day:

1. PIKA PIKA Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing 190ml
RM79.00

2. PIKA PIKA Sparkling Bright Fruity Peel Off Mask 80g
RM49.90

3. PIKA PIKA Sparkling Bright Hot & Cool Cleansing Gel 35g
RM39.90

My confused ass actually forgot to come in bare faced/with minimum makeup because the first activity was a no-mirror makeup challenge. That was followed by a face cleansing session using the deep cleansing oil to see how well it would remove my makeup.

Here's my station!

At first, I thought it was quite gimmicky because if you have light makeup on or if you do you do the makeup challenge, you wouldn't have the proper amount of makeup you would normally have on a normal day.

I personally wear a ton of makeup because a.) I'm a dude lol, b.) I'm not perfect and c.) I need color correction, concealer and primer all day err day.

Surprisingly, the deep cleansing oil worked super well and totally removed my makeup! From the pic below, you can see that there's totally no trace of makeup left!

I also had tons of eyeshadow and mascara on my eyes but the deep cleanser managed to remove all of it thoroughly!

The deep cleanser also has AHA and BHA, so it might be a bit too drying to people with dry skin. Since I have oily, acne prone skin, I hear a lot of people raving about products AHA + BHA. This was my first experience with a cleanser containing both ingredients, and needless to say I was impressed.

After cleansing our face, we were asked to use the Hot & Cool Cleansing Gel which has a duo function of cleansing and repairing the skin. It has a sticky consistency and after I rubbed it into my face it really did feel warm! I washed it off after 10 minutes and my pores felt quite fresh afterwards! I originally don't have super big pores but my skin really felt squeaky clean after washing it off!

Me and Nicole. Don't judge my bare face!

I was quite happy with the effects I saw on my skin after using the first 2 products so I was looking forward to using the peel off gel. Unfortunately our hosts said we wouldn't be trying it out that day, and I think it was for the best. After the drying AHA/BHA combo + a second round of cleansing, I think a 3rd round would have been too extreme. We were handed some moisturizer after that and the workshop was concluded!

Sweets and tea time follwed the workshop and since I hadn't been to Foret Blanc yet, I was pretty excited to see what they had!

The afternoon delights were yummy but my faves would have to be the macarons + this unicorn macaron!

Unicorns are actually Foret Blanc's signature and they were kind enough to provide a few of their homemade unicorn vanilla ice cream tubs for us to try out!

Us bloggers were sent back with two products. After almost a week of using them, here's my short review!

The sparkly bright fruity cleansing liquid aims to brighten the skin & peel it, stregthening the skin barrier & removing makeup, dirt and blackheads.

This smells super yummy (like apples!) and although it doesn't feel like anything special while cleansing, my face felt super clean after using it!

The peeling gel was the product we didn't get to try during the workshop and I was quite happy with the result! Although the peeling gel wasn't as painful as the others I tried, it still made my skin feel very firm while it was drying.

After peeling it off and putting on my serums + moisturizers, my cheeks still felt very firm and plump! I really like the effects of it but I had to use quite a lot of product to cover my whole face. It did become transparent and peel evenly though.

And that's all for this post! As always, thanks for reading and see y'all in the next post 💖
