Namu Life Snail White Facial Cream Review

September 14, 2016

Hey guys! Today I'll be sharing my super delayed review of Namu Life's Snail White Snail Secretion Filtrate Moisture Facial Cream.

This product generated a lot of hype a while back as it claimed to able to make people fairer and effectively heal acne/dark spots. It was also heavily sponsored and advertised through celebrities, especially in Thailand. I decided to give it a go and see if it really was as good as what it was advertised. Unfortunately, I don't like it all that well but I don't hate it. Read on to find out why.

I bought this last year in May (my god it's almost been a year!) and the reason why I'm posting about it so late is because I didn't really like it. I wrote down the draft of my review but I somehow forgot about it. That's why I'm only posting it now haha. Please forgive all the ugly photos as they were taken last year!

Please note that although it did not work that well for me, it may have different effects on others. This post is solely based on my experience with it.

Without any further ado, on with the review!

*Disclaimer: I was not paid to write this review, this post contains my full honest opinions*

WHAT IS IT

The official description of this products is "a cream formulated with snail secretion filtrate and promises to transform skin, making it more youthful, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves firmness, brightness and re hydrating the skin as well."

I wouldn't describe it as a cream but more of an emulsion or a sleeping mask.

This was HEAVILY marketed back in 2012-2014, and I saw so many rave reviews about how they became "white" and that their skin became more even. Being the desperate to be white back then I decided to give it a try.

This product boasts quite a few effects, namely:

WHERE TO BUY?

This product retails on Hermo.my for RM150 for 50ml, but I got it for RM135 during promotion. I know right, for RM135 I could have bought serums or essences...I was so gullible.

PACKAGING

The cream/emulsion comes packaged in a white tub with a unique dispenser.

You have to press it and the emulsion comes out. I feel like a lot of tub products need to do this because it's honestly so hygienic! Props to them for that.

This product was so popular that fakes appeared in the market. Make sure that there are two seals: one on the box and one on the tub's lid.

INGREDIENTS

The main ingredient would be snail filtrate. If you're wondering "why snail?", its because snail slime is known to include nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, glycoprotein, proteoglycans, and antimicrobial and copper peptides, all of which are commonly used in beauty products and proven to be beneficial for the skin.

Full list of ingredients:

Snail secretion filtrate, Bytyrospermum Parkii, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit extract, Morus Nigra Fruit extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) extract, Prunus Avium (Sweet Cherry) extract, Zingiber Officinate (Ginger) root extract, Bisabolol, Allantoin, Lavendula Stoechas extract, Centella Asiatica extract, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic acid, Panax Ginseng Callus Culture extract, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Pentanediol

TEXTURE & FRAGRANCE

This product has a white milky/emulsion texture that's slightly sticky. It has a certain scent that isn't heavy but definitely stays on the face overnight.

HOW TO USE

Wash - Toner - Moisturize/Mask

I would categorize this as a moisturizer/sleeping mask. Its suggested for you to apply it on your skin after toner.

MY REVIEW

After about 2 months of using this I saw no visible change in the tone/shade of my skin, although I have to say that it did help fade my scars. It also did make my skin firmer and feel tighter, but not for a very long time (as in it would feel nice in the morning when I washed it off but throughout the day it was back to normal).

As for controlling oil and reducing acne, I didn't see any effects.

MY VERDICT

I have mixed to negative reviews about this product. Its nice as a sleeping mask and it slightly improves the skin's texture, but for RM135 I expected it to do more.

WILL I REPURCHASE

To be honest, I won't repurchase this product. I feel like it does have skin regenerating properties but I bought it for the whitening/brightening features it boasted to have. Sadly, I regret buying this.

  3. I have used this Snail white cream for long time and to a great extent it has helped me to regain my skin glow. Also this copper repair cream helped me a lot. Both, I think, are quite effective.
