A Flower Boy's Tale [REVIEW]

May 22, 2013

Okay okay okay, cool down Eros. *Takes deep breath* Okay, let's do this!

...hmm, how do i start this? T^T

For the past 2 weeks, I haven't been posting anything here because my dad disconnected the internet from the computer T^T I only had wifi on my tab, so when one of my idols Yutakis James, announced that he would be giving away free copies of his newest photobook "A Flower Boy's Tale", I totally freaked out XD the giveaway is gonna be ending on the 25th, and today is already the 22nd!
OH. MY. GOD. So I reconnected the internet and now here I am! XD *shh don't tell anyone* I really should be studying for my O-Levels T^T I have Chemistry paper 1 and 2 tomorrow, but I figured that this is SLIGHTLY more important XD

Before typing up this review, I though to myself that I should only download my favourite photos and write at the start and at the end of this post how much I loved it and bla bla bla~ but since my tab is really small, it was troublesome to look at all of the new photos Yutakis posted. When I went to his blog today and looked at the photos...I downloaded them all XD they're just so good!

Yutaki, I might not win this giveaway, and I only started following you when I first opened my Instagram account *which was about this time last year* and I know that you have other fans that have been following you for a much longer time. It's my first time doing this, and I would really like to win because the pictures really are awesome! ^^

And to my other blog readers, who is Yutakis you say? Well, he's a Singaporean blogger/model and he looks awesome. The best thing about him is that he takes his own photos! *kinda like selca addict me ><*

So, without further ado, let's start this review! ^^

the cover

This is actually the 3rd photo book in a series, the first being "A Dream in Paris" and the second "Summer Love". There are two versions, the one that's up on his blog and the printed version. The things I love the most about this photo book are that it showcases a lot of looks and a lot of settings. A majority of the photos were taken in Nagasaki, Japan, but the other sets include Malaysia, Macau, Hongkong, China, Thailand and his home of Singapore.

The photo book is actually divided into three parts. Here are my favourite photos and my thoughts about them.

CHAPTER 1
Summer Of A Dandy

This is the first photo and also the cover photo. When I saw this photo, my first reaction was "OMG this is gonna be a good photobook"!

I LOVE the Victorian sets *v* look at the mansion and the gardens!

These photos look...sexay @.@ who wants Yutakis as their butler?? *raises hand*

I heart macarons too! ^^

When I first discovered Yutakis, I thought he was Japanese. I don't really like Japanese ulzzangs and prefer Korean ones, but even though I though he was Japanese, I loved him! I found out later that he was Singaporean and I was like "OMG I LIVE IN MALAYSIA I CAN GO AND MEET YOU OMG OMG OMG*

This place looks like London @.@ is it London?

If only I looked that good when I take a bath...The four inset photos are really cute though ^^

CHAPTER 2
The Flower Tales

This chapter focuses a lot on flowers and since my name is Eros, EROS = ROSE XD. seriously though, I love flowers. This chapter also has a fairy tale feel to it.

The diamond headdress OMG @.@ I want it! He looks so flawless here!!

The roses are so lovely! Another thing which I admire about Yutakis is his great photography skills. The last rose photo up there is currently my desktop wallpaper ^^

The two photos above have a sort of European feel to them because of the windmills~

OMG because of the hat he's wearing, I was reminded of SNSD's Jessica's Genie photos!

More flowers and a pretty flower boy~

Sigh...I also want a Polaroid camera T^T my friend Sammi is from Singapore, and she said that Polaroid cameras were well priced there :D i wanna buy one.

These ones are just epic! @.@ HOW DID YOU FLY WAS THERE A HELPER HOMG

black and white also suits Yutakis very well, but i prefer the coloured photos. His complexion is so good @.@

The 9 photos above are my favourite ones from the photo book ^^ they're so pink! I love pink! XD *I am a SONE!* his photos also came out very well! Perfect complexion, expression, face...perfect everything!

CHAPTER 3
Urban Boy's Legend

This chapter features a more chic concept and the photos range from cool to pretty to fun~

Whoa, Black Yutakis! I saw that studded necklace the other day but didn't buy it T^T I should've bought it!

These ones have a very Paris feel :D he looks like a guy selling flowers in the very busy town of Paris~

The picture with the book...reminded me to study T^T

I was surprised when I saw these! they're very anime-like~

I dunno why, but for some reason, I thought of Padini when I saw the two pics above @.@ maybe its because of the striped shirt~

Woo! ^^ The 5 pics above are so colourful! Were they taken in Genting?

This one has a very American Red Indian feel to it~

These one have a child-like feel to them~ a flower BOY!

And sadly, that's the end of the photo book T.T

I really want this photo book! It has 288 full coloured pages and I just...I WANT IT! Please give it to me! Pretty please? :D

I really look up to Yutakis, and he's one of my idols :D I didn't really know if he was gonna read this long post, but I seriously hope he does. If you are reading this, belated happy birthday and congratulations on getting your photo book printed! ^^

PS. i really loved the second one ^^ I really thought of buying a crown XD

PPS. I don't really know if I should call him Yutaki or Yutakis @.@ I've been following him for a year and I still can't figure it out @.@

PPPS. Am I supposed to make the review here? Or on his blog? @.@ omg omg omg where?

Bye bye for now :D imma go back to studying. In the meantime, you can follow Yutakis on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! :D
